Thank you again for all the info you post about fitment. I spoke to LFI and referenced you. They say they are working on a new set of wheels for you. I went with the V2s. What do you think of those?
Very nice! The v2 is a great option. I really like the new lip design on those. Cant go wrong.

We may have something new in the pipeline 😬

It's that time of year again in the midwest. I constantly get reminded how good this car is being able to go from a 1/4 mile weapon to mobbing thru the snow with ease haha.

Believe it or not, I actually agree.

I think the V1s look better than the V2s, also the 20s just look meaty on there.

This was my favorite setup on his car. Yeah, the BC Forged look great, but for some reason I always come back to these

I'm running Michelin Pilot Alpin 4 N Spec in 275/40/20 squared. They are more of a "winter" tire than a deep snow tire but man I love how well they handle the dry. We don't get crazy snow in IL so the trade off is well worth.

Haha I greatly appreciate the compliments gentleman. I do agree, something about the styling of these just flows so well with the car. Not the flashiest but man do they have presence.

I am currently on the stock diff bushing. I replace the bolt every oil change with Belmtric bolts. They aren't a solution by any means but it's a temporary band-aid that's been working for me until I can decide on a bushing solution.

I'm on #4 and they do bend but I fortunately have not had one break on me.

It looks like they restructured their website. The PN's are the same and not discontinued.

Sweet. So you just have been swapping this out every oil change or so and no issues with it at all eh?

Yep exactly. I've been doing it for almost 2 years now and have never had a bolt break or even get close. If I do heavy track days I'll see a slight bend but nothing crazy.

If you have the time and means to do it I truly think this is a great option for those that don't want NVH. Swapping the entire bushing or doing lockdown kits can introduce other issues down the line, loctite fix etc.

Congrats on the new ride! An easy precautionary measure would be throwing a set of new spark plugs in before you start tuning. Gap them accordingly based on your tuners recommendation. Enjoy!

pre june 2020 is easier to work with, can have a normal bench unlock and full flash.

post june 2020 needs a FEMTO unlock, its only the calibration area that can be flashed. I was told there would be major limitations on power but so far im at 770-780whp and pushing it more on only FEMTO unlock.

so pre june 2020 is easier but if you cant get one pre june 2020 it can still be unlocked and flashed (DME will need to be send to finland for unlock)
I've read every page of the thread so far to find this breakdown. It seems straight forward. Let me run this logic by you and determine my next step.

My F97 has a vehicle production date of 6/19. Which means the entire vehicle was complete and the DME would have been produced earlier. I know to be sure I need to find the physical DME and it's MFG date, but unless BMW had a secret Delorian from the 90's garaged :), I don't see how my DME could be newer than the vehicle production date. Fingers crossed my production date is so far in the past, I'm in the clear without even looking.

Goal is to run BM3 Stage 1 93 OTS and a downpipe, running stock now. I've hesitated doing this because I assumed I was fully locked and hadn't desired to mod this thing among my other projects, but if unlocked and flashed for reasonable cost, It sounds and looks like a pretty good time.

Thanks guys!

The money is better spent on a custom tune, while keeping stock downpipe.

Custom tune will be optimized to your specific car, and your specific taste. For example, maybe you want a maximum effort roll race setup, or a soft torque autocross setup, or both (switchable).

Stock downpipe flows plenty.

Exactly & I couldn't agree with this more. The factory mid-pipe flows extremely well. FUNNY BUT TRUE FACT, if you get an exhaust valve controller (I REALLY LIKE THE new / quick to sell out 11-Mode unit) you'll get lots more sound & volume from the factory Comp muffler. Trust me when I say this, I've bough the most expensive mid-pipe ever made & modified another one numerous times. And guess what, for $199 you can leave everything in place & can spend that money elsewhere. We've also flow tested the factory mid-pipe on the front lawn with a high CFM leaf blower & guess again, there was no restriction in overall air flow. Don't waste your money on a mid-pipe like many of us did. It's a lot of money for a small amount of additional sound. Learn from our small mistakes & have fun with this vehicle.
