Artdnj wroteI had the same thought regarding the wind load at highway speeds and the potential stress that could create at the contact points. Another consideration is the material itself—if there’s any exposed metal or lower-grade coating, I’d be concerned about corrosion over time and whether that could transfer onto or stain the paint. Not sure how significant the risk is, but it seems worth factoring in.dzar wrotedoes the ties wear away the paint at the contact points with paint? I would think there is a lot of stress due to wind while driving.I used black metal zip ties (like those used on fences) as they blend in well and should hold up great in the weather. Been through the car wash a few times and no issues.

^^^ I used 4 heavy duty black nylon zip ties. The bracket is firmly in place. There is no metal or any painted surface for the plastic licence plate bracket to contact.

Same here, 4 heavy duty zip ties. Not worried.

I finally received my registration so the MD license plate is now affixed to the front bracket. I hope the MD State Police are happy now. LOL
