I've never been one to really care much about how an engine bay looks. At least to the extent of adding dress up bits to it. Not sure what really changed with this vehicle but here we are lol. The only time my hood is ever open is at the track cooling down or if I'm working on the car so I guess this really was a "for me" kinda mod that I never saw my self doing but I'm loving the looks of it.
First off I had a few pieces powder coated in Prismatic Powders "Splatter Black". This is a textured powder coat, very similar to wrinkle black but with more of a satin sheen finish. I'm blown away with how the pieces turned out and I owe it all to Crown Customs & Coatings in Wheeling, IL. They sprayed the strut bar, two V braces and the metal radiator shroud.
Next up was the Downstar dress up bolt kit. They offer a ton of color options but I didn't want something that would stand out too much. I don't think the center piece of the engine bay should be bolts and given I have no other colors popping I wanted it to stay subtle. I chose black washers and stainless bolts. It's very subdued but it's a nice touch when you notice it.
The combination of everything is well balanced to where nothing is hitting you in the face, aside from maybe the carbon intake tube due to the size. Overall though very pleased with how it looks!
