Great video and perfect documentation of your PB run! Pulling for you to succeed at the Strip with runs under 10s

And looking forward to some images with your new wheels on - when you share those I'll add your details to the Master Wheel/tire list. :cool!:
Yes! Just waiting on tires to show up and then doing a little switching around. I'll be sure to share all specs and weights once it's finalized.

New photos since it's been a while!

I swapped out the Nitto NT555rII for Atturo AZ850 on the Advan GT's. I will be running a dedicated track wheel/tire setup so the Nittos will go on that setup. So far the Atturo have been great for daily driving and dirt cheap for a set of tires.

As have I! It's my first time trying them but so far so good. They are comfortable, pretty quiet and handle the road well. Over time I'm sure I'll push them further and further. So far, $600 for the entire set I'm very pleased.

I tried for a few months to track down a set when I had my Jeep SRT but supply chain issues got the best of me. The low price was one reason I was after them.

X3M Drag Pack | LFI Wheel and Tire Setup!

Ok so this seems like a recurring theme lately that I procrastinate updating this thread. If you follow my socials you have likely already saw but it's worthy of posting here as well! This is going to be a lengthy one so buckle up!

My journey and vision with this car has really transformed into a drag and drive vehicle that I still daily drive. One of the key aspects to making that possible is wheel and tires.

Venturing down that path, I've had many visions for what I want it to look like and how I wanted it to perform. The Advan GT's with Nitto NT555R2 were a great combination and quite frankly more than enough for most but I wanted to push further. I wanted to go even lighter with even stickier tires. After many renders, revisions and countless hours of research and development I settled on what is my ultimate drag pack for the X3M / X4M.

With the help from my friends over at LFI Wheels, we were able to build a set of custom spec TRS01 18" wheels to put on the rear of the X3M and to be paired with my existing 20" front wheels. After a lot of back and forth with measurements to ensure maximum clearance we landed on a final design.

Now let me preface this...

** Not all 18" wheels will clear the rear of these vehicles. The barrel to caliper clearance is extremely tight and really comes down to the profile and design on the barrel of the wheel. Approach at your own risk. **

Specs:

LFI TRS01
Front:
20x9.5 et18 with 275/40/20 Nitto NT555R2

Rear:
18x10 et27 with 305/45/18 Mickey Thompson ET Street R

Comparison and Data

First Comparison: total weight savings going from Advan to LFI.

Advan GT Beyond
20x9.5 et 28 / 20x10.5 et32
Nitto NT555R2
275/40/20 / 315/35/20
Total Weight: 226.0 lbs

LFI TRS01
20x9.5 et18 / 18x10 et27
Nitto NT555R2 & Mickey Thompson ET Street R
275/40/20 / 305/45/18
Total Weight: 206.7 lbs

A grand total of 19.3 lbs of rotational mass!!

Second Comparison: 60ft times on the street. All of my runs are done on the same surface, at the same spot. To put it into perspective, my previous best of a 1.57 on the street is one of the fastest 60fts I've seen from the X3M / X4M platform as whole.

- Best Advan GT 60ft: 1.57s
- Best LFI 60ft: 1.53s

Cracking off a 1.53 is blistering fast as I've tried dozens of times with my Advan setup. I typically would run 1.59s on average and now the drag pack is doing 1.53 now with ease. I'm sure I can better it even further with more seat time.

52909836188_84cbc9cb83_c.jpg53304842667_6102aeda5d_c.jpg

Third Comparison: 60ft and 0-60 times on a prepped track. Same track, different conditions. Same ECU file and performance modifications.

- Best Advan GT 60ft: 1.489s
- Best LFI 60ft: 1.493s

My personal best 60ft was with the Advan GT doing a 1.489s. This was after many track days and dozens of passes to really learn this setup. The prep was really good that night and I was never able to replicate it after that. Most of the time I'm running 1.50-1.51 consistently.

53179536047_958dca789b_c.jpg

With the LFI drag pack, I ran two 1.49s 60fts on the same day. This was with really poor prep and very cold track conditions (not ideal). This was also my second time out on this setup, literally my 3rd pass. With more seat time I am confident these will go mid to low 1.4s.

53299706922_0ae964871e_c.jpg

From a 0-60mph standpoint, I managed to pick up over a tenth of a second from just wheels and tires which at this level is super impressive!

- Best Advan GT 0-60mph: 2.46s
- Best LFI 0-60mph: 2.34s

New Personal Best and New Stock Turbo X3M World Record!

Along the testing journey I was able to retake the X3M Stock Turbo World Record back from my good friend Dawgs. Running a new personal track best of 9.93 @ 136mph! It's worth noting too I ran a new personal best on Dragy as well of a 9.91 which was shared above!

https://www.instagram.com/p/Cy9KtUkvbMO/

Overall I look forward to pushing this setup even further and can't wait to get back to the track next year when it reopens.

In the mean time, enjoy some photos!

Thanks guys! Im loving how it looks as well. I remember when I first got this car I photoshopped different big tire setups on the rear. Its awesome to come full circle and bring it to reality haha. 👍🏼

I’ve been following this build and absolutely love it… well done man!

I’ve gotta ask, have you done anything for your rear differential bolt? Reading about it makes me nervous to launch my car stock, but then I read this thread and feel like I’m probably overreacting…

Thanks for the support! I've replaced my diff bolt a few times luckily before any failures. Each one has come out bent though. I will say I think a good wheel and tire setup has saved mine. I rarely, if ever get wheel hop like the stock wheel and tires do. Not to mention I have reduced a significant amount of rotational mass which is less stress on the drivetrain.

All that being said, I did purchase the Einhorn Industries solid bushing and hoping to install it soon.

Question since you've done so much here in every regard including tire/rim. Do you have a thought/opinion on 315/35-21 (on stock 765m rear wheel) and whether it'll rub anywhere when lowered on HR meaning quarter or inner liner? Thanks in advance for a thought... and again awesome build

It could work but you'll likely need to play with spacers. I don't think it will clear the inner liner without spacers. It's also a slightly taller tire than I would like.

305/35/21 would be a better fit in terms of overall diamter. Assuming you'd run 265/40/21 fronts. 315/35 is 1.4% larger (ideally I like beinging withing +\- 1% front to rear).

Agreed on all, i think 305 is perfecto but the choices are so minimal... sounds like 295 it's going to be (i'm 265 all around right now) thanks for response
