24 X3MC 10/13 build no puddle lights. Does anyone know why and if any 24s came with these? I search and seems to be all over the place i might of just been unlucky. I also looked for retro fit but most treads lead to no as the wiring is missing. So more complex then needs to be for lights.

I haven't attempted to pop the blanking plates off to see if any wiring is there though, I would be surprised if not as it's possibly part of the "standard" wiring loom.
Looks like BMW trying to save a few pennies (or dollars

My 2024 X4m doesn't have them, and I looked under the plastic cover - sadly there is no wiring. However my 2025 X5 does have those lights. Go figure:confused2

I just picked up my car last weekend, and I ordered the puddle lights from Openthrottle... I went to go install them this morning, and I realized my car is also not equipped with puddle lights.
I reached out to the dealer, trying to have them installed under warranty, but they are saying they don't think it can be retrofitted. I'm waiting to hear the final 'no', they said they'd do more research.

A small thing to be disappointed in but patiently waited 3 weeks to get the lights from Open Throttle only to see blanks on the bottom of my door.I just picked up my car last weekend, and I ordered the puddle lights from Openthrottle... Yep. Dealer says it can't be retrofitted. We're just SOL.

9kracing wroteThat's very sad. I saw some puddle lights on Ali Express that are on batteries and just get attached to the doors inside panel within a minute. But I wouldn't want to deal with battery replacements all the time. they look nice thoughYep. Dealer says it can't be retrofitted. We're just SOL.

9kracing wroteYeah that's bullshit, its easy to retrofit. Just replace the door harness. It just has two extra connections for the puddle and door card lights.Yep. Dealer says it can't be retrofitted. We're just SOL.
I have pulled my doors and harnesses many times to know there is absolutely nothing exceptional about them, its plug and play.

The way BMW went about cutting costs in the later builds continues to baffle my mind a little bit. Sorry BMW tried to save a few bucks & deleted this cool little feature that should be standard issue on all cars.

But haven't BMW replaced the door puddle lights with the sill lights instead? The ground by the door is still illuminated showing puddles, same difference

9kracing wroteAgreed but they do the same thing.Carpet lights are different than puddle lights
The puddle light effect, especially any motif types would be diminished by the carpet light and likewise, a standard fit white puddle light would diminish the carpet light pattern.

The fronts don't overlap if the door is open wide, but the rears certainly do like you said.
Either way, I still feel ripped off.

Funny, I was doing research just yesterday about door paddle lights making an assumption that carpet lights coming from under the doors. I gather enough information to conclude it's a NO-GO for my 2025 X4MComp.

Same thing. Bought the M Perf projector lights from OpenThrottle and found out I just have a plastic blank and no wiring harness in my 2023 X3 M40i.
Pierre in another thread bought door cards AND the wiring hardness extension that includes the wiring for the puddle lights from a 2022 AND the led for the cup holders and retrofitted them onto his 2023.
I'm trying to figure out exactly what he did to make this work over there right now: https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?p=32535076#post32535076

So the individual door harnesses connect inside the door into an existing connector and add connections for both puddle lights and the cupholder LEDs in the doors?

Adam update this thread if you get it working.
I changed out my carpet lights to the M-Performance ones, but I'd still like to have puddle lights if it's easy to do.
