But there is only connector 9,8,7,6??

9 = Blue
8= black
7 = White
6 = Maroon
2 and 3 are down below.

First remove the red wire by pulling straight out at the two connectors. Then open the black guard like a door by undoing the two clips...they both just pull out easily. Then 2 and 3 down below are easy to get to.

I just realised that's where I was going wrong!! :sigh:

With the Dorch harness, the instructions refer and show a green wire... My wire off the Dorch harness is grey though... Is the way that I am arranging this wire correct?

Grey wire from Dorch harness into the supplied black clip?

You mention that the pin numbers are correct, but the instructions don't say which pin numbers specifically to pull?

It only shows a photo of the brown wire, which is pin # 24, but it looks like a second pin needs to be removed from the blue OEM harness, which I cannot locate?

On the first connector (A) go by the pin numbers. The wire colors don't match.

On the second connector (B) go by the wire colors. The connector isn't marked by pin numbers. But the wires are in the same.location as in the pictures, so that'll give you an idea of where to look.

Thanks abbike18's user avatarabbike18! I emailed Dorch and they sent me specific the specific X3 instructions with the correct wiring colours... This would have helped alot from the start ..... All sorted now!

Do the HPFP with the ECA, order directly from Dorch and they will give you a discount.

You will save on fuel lines because they will be redundant. I can't say specifically what the discount is, as I'm not the seller and I don't want to step on their toes. Email Dorch and they will get back to you within a few days. The discount was significant enough that I had to pull the trigger.

In other news BM3 emailed me back today saying they are having their dev team look at my issues. I did a TON of troubleshooting and testing and sent them all the results. Will keep everyone updated here on the BM3 end of things as well.
Quick update - I'm still working on this. I was away on vacation but now I'm back. Working with BM3 to get a time in the calendar next week for them to log in to the car remotely and perform some testing to figure out what's going on. Will update people here once they've done that.

Okay.

If fuel line, then if anything like the AN fitting PTF fuel lines, pair of them should be ~$100'ish, hopefully discount is as such, or comparable.

Got a trial map today from PTF but it didn't work - still had the same issue.

Check out those crazy values:
https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=630fa0cbd10b43521e361131

Anyone else with the dorch kit (or really any kit using zeitronix) and bootmod3 who can share a log?

Actually - anyone running a BM3 multi-map with or without an ethanol sensor kit? Logs for that would be helpful too as I'm seeing strange behavior from the BM3 multi map even without any ECA plugged in.

Is purchasing the MHD (yes, why, right, when you already have bm3 license) not an option? Just asking, that's all.

Also, in case you haven't, maybe also cross post here in gen1 b58 specific forum with more sme's there?

Looks like there is now a plug-n-play MHD flexfuel-CAN kit for G01 X3 gen1 b58.

MHD is always an option. The $$ isn't a big deal. It's the concept - I don't like to pay money for a substitute when I should get what I paid for. So I'll give them a little longer. They've been working on it, albeit slowly.

That forum is for f series. I haven't seen the issue in f series logs. I guess I could expand our to g series, but there aren't many g series with Gen1 B58 engines.

I have a Gen 1 B58 in my 540i G30 and have BM3 and the Dorch ECA. I've been following this thread and it has been helpful to me.

What I have learned is that the MHD ECA only works with an MHD tune, whereas the Dorch (Zietronix) unit works for both BM3 and MHD.

I need to log, but I have been running the multi-map for maybe a few weeks now and I haven't run into any issues, again, I do need to log to verify. I was worried about running into the same issues as @abbike18 so I have been following this thread carefully.

Well PTF couldn't fix the issue where their tunes was running on a 255% ethanol reading. They said it was my vehicle not their software.

So I made the switch to MHD to figure this out. And guess what? Ethanol reads perfectly. No spikes, no mis reading.

I've let PTF know. Hope they fix their system.

Thanks for that a/b testing.

This is, um, going to cause me some headache.

This flexfuel kit could me my option, but i'm now locked to MHD, MHD only. But the kit is more of plug-n-play with no harness through firewall, and plugs into the connector in the DME area. And i can still leverage my current BT ECA, hence i only need to purchase electronic only from BIMECU. Hrm... MG is well, i don't know when they will get to flexfuel support.

Yeah that's a tough call. Personally I like the Dorch kit for two reasons. First, it is platform flexible. While BM3 is having issues right now, I do think they will fix it. They are having a G01 come in to their shop to troubleshoot. Second, I want the actual control unit in the car, not under the hood where it'll get wet and hot.

The Dorch install wasn't that bad IMO.

Hey OP, Now that PTF released the Flex Fuel Kit for engine bay where it fits closer, would you have considered their kit or still have gone with dorch?
