Ok so I have a 22 x3m40i on order BG/ Cognac. I’m sold on the cognac but I saw a BG today in person and the color is kinda eh to me. Will I hate it in a few weeks? I’m getting the car coated asap with modesta so not worries about swirls but thinking of switching to either of the blacks or dark grey. I’m just worried the BG is too blue and I hate light blue vehicles. Hmmmmm anyone in similar situation on color selections. Black looks amazing and I thought BG did as well but not in person. What to do?? Please help. Hahaha

Same here. I was on the BG train and really thought the BG/Tac-Red in the photos on here were amazing. It wasn't until I went and saw one in person that it lost me. Exactly as you said. The blue-ish hues that really make it look light blue in certain light and angles turned me off. I went with Alpine/Red.

I still see pics of that color that are amazing especially at night - spectacular- but if blue hues don't appeal to you then maybe you might regret the dynamic changes you get with this paint.

I like the color just fine. I've seen it in person on M240is. It's the contrast of the color to the extended shadow line black that bothered me. I originally ordered BG, but changed to Graphite based on a fellow members recent pics. His build is amazing!

So I generally can’t stand blue cars but I think BG (esp with cognac as a combo) is really nice. There are def blue hues in certain lights but it’s very dynamic and much less obviously blue than carbon black, which to me is just a dark metallic navy.

That said, sophisto has really grown on me. As others have said, when paired with black trim it looks really mean and provides just the right amount of tone to make out all the contouring. Vs pure black which I think can feel flat, especially when dirty - and I say that as someone who has a stealth sapphire black 330i

Yeh man I see pics as well of the BG esp at night and it looks amazing. But in the day the blue just looks so blah to me. Pretty much sold on changing the color but unsure to what.

I ordered Phytonic blue with cognac, but after the order I wanted to add a couple of more options that I kinda see sawed on , called the dealer back the next morning, they said I could add on anything, a week later the salesman called me, said they had a vehicle in with all the options I was looking for but in Brooklyn gray and black interior, I liked the color and agree it changes in the light, it definitely doesn't show when it's dirty like a white or black car

Don't have one myself, but yes, I've seen pics of BG and went "DAMN!" and a lot where I just go... "meh" lol

It's a strange color, to each their own.

We have the same, BG/Cognac. The BG was a bit too stealthy, so we added Hydro Glacier Rally Stripes to spice it up. It's definitley _not_ boring now. (Ceramic coating was added after the striping. cheers, CS

Same here. I was excited when I saw the pics online, but in person it just didn't do it for me. I ordered Dark Graphite also.

I agree that the color does look much better at night or low light, but I've never had a car receive so many compliments because of the color before. I constantly get compliments on the color, day or night.

I appreciate you. Mine hit 150 the other day so I can’t change it and I’ve been waffling back and forth. Imma stick with it. I like how dynamic it is.

You won't regret it. I was a little worried too because I ordered without ever seeing the color in the flesh. I couldn't be happier.

Can't say this will help but here is Glacier Silver on Cognac M40i fully coated in Modesta BC Ceramic.

Love this color and while I like BG, I wanted the glossy silver!

Yeh looks great!! Modesta is the best!!! One of my good friends is a modesta installer. I have it on my Ducati. Love how the paint shines and how easy it is to clean.

I was also set on BG after seeing photos and some YouTube videos, but when I went to order they had 2 at the dealership and I didn't actually like how it looked. Changed my mind and went with tanzanite blue.

I love my BG with black interior. I think in hindsight cognac would have been nicer but I didn’t like the contrast with all the black plastic on the M seats.

Everyone that’s seen it loves the colour. That probably the most single thing that people comment on.

Nice and easy to keep clean too. I had a black metallic car years ago and swore never again. Absolutely awful colour to wash/dry and keep looking good.
