I actually went with the r33_RGSport's user avatarr33_RGSport midpipe and Dinan axle back. Will post some videos and my thoughts shortly

In the meantime here is a video of it at idle from my Instagram

Engine was warmed up. That was not a cold start. Cold start is loud.

Mine arrived last night. Hope to install this weekend. I have the non-comp exhaust. May try to get a video together before and after install.

If you're on the fence on this don't be. Great subtle sound improvement without being obnoxious for daily or family use. I ordered mine directly from Dinan but Extreme Powerhouse is offering this for $382. If you use the coupon code "comeback" you can knock off an additional 5%. Happy shopping!

Debating this vs ER midpipe (almost 3x price difference). Does the entire exhaust need to be dropped to install this? Also, the stock exhaust isn't loud enough for me so I wonder if this will be sufficient.

No the entire exhaust does not need to be dropped to install either option. You will get more sound out of the ER mid pipe. Just depends what sound you're after.

Thanks.

Anyone else with feedback after long term usage?

Thinking about getting this for my X3M euro model. Anyone know if this wil throw CEL like the other mid pipes like Eisenman? Dont want to start coding the ECU, afraid to loose the waranty if they see the ECU has been adjusted.

Thanks for the tip! Price has gone up just like everything has, but they have the best price plus coupon code still works.

Just ordered one a couple days ago, but might return it once it arrives and order an ER/RG Mid-pipe. I read that the x-pipe with stock exhaust and secondary cats isn’t much louder than stock, just the tone. Would you advise just getting the ER mid-pipe? I’m looking for a much louder sound but not catless DP sounding.

Removing the secondary cats and resonator will definitely provide more volume than just the Dinan X-pipe which only replaces the resonator. When keeping the secondary cats the bigger overall volume producer is going to be the axleback/muffler itself rather than removal of the resonator.

I always think of the volume scale as the below (assuming keeping factory primary cats) but everyones ear is different. This is also solely based on overall volume and does not take into account tone.

1 - Stock
3 - Resonator Delete
5 - Axleback
7 - Axleback, Resonator Delete
8 - Resonator Delete, Secondary Cat Delete - Should be noted I have never heard this in person but judging on what I have read it stands to reason this is where it would be slotted.
10 - Axleback, Resonator Delete, Secondary Cat Delete

Sorry for bringing back to life an old post, but now that I just bought out my non-comp X3M lease it is time for mods. I have never really loved the stock sound of the X3M, especially coming from an Infiniti Q60 RedSport 400 with straight pipes and no muffler box. That thing used to wake up the neighbors. Always loved Dinan tuned Bimmers. This thread has convinced me to go with the resonator delete and axle-back exhaust. I am also hard pressed not to add the Stage-1 tune. Buying out my car at the end of the lease may prove to be a more expensive proposition than I originally thought after hanging out with you lot on this forum. :D
