I believe an X7 would actually make sense. Look at the MB GL class. They do pretty darn well sales wise.

Cars that need to go: 5GT, 3GT, X6, X4, 4GC.

Cars I want to see in the states: 1 series 5 door (priced appropriately).

An X7 definitely makes a more sense. There is a market for a full size SUV. People with a large family struggle to fit into an X5. So what do they do? Go to Mercedes and drop the bank on a GL.

The new GL is stunning. Even though I'm not a Benz fan, I think everyone can admit that GL is something special!

Why on earth would someone want a degenerate vehicle such as this when they can spend $1000 more and get a Macan?

Porsche driving dynamics for another thousand bucks?! Porsche. Not bloated, luxo-barge BMW dynamics anymore, but Porsche.

It boggles my mind why this should have any sales whatsoever in 2015 (when Macan reaches higher production levels as all sold out 1st year run).

Well everyone who has bought a new 991 GT3 has had them taken off the road by Porsche after 2 caught light. No sign of any fix from Porsche appears to be a serious engine issue. So think twice before you buy the Macan. My experience of Porsche is that reliability can be suspect.

So let me get this Bmw launches the X4 and shows only real world Msport pics. They previously launched LCI X3 and no real pics of msport. WTH!

Fair point. Granted that Porsche is still a few thousand dollars more expensive and BMW is better equipped (for example PTV is an optional extra in Macan, Performance Control standard in BMW) if I was buying (not leasing) and wouldn't mind paying a little more then I would go with the Macan probably.

Still we should give the X4 the benefit of the doubt and wait for the reviews to come out. I would like to see a Macan vs X4 comparison test before writing off the X4 entirely...

Do the optional LED headlights come with non-led turn signals? If so that is weak.

BMW needs to stop with the non-led crap and holding it out for the LCI.

I don't like the X4 or X5 but I would buy an X4.5 or X 5.5 if BMW could kindly make one.

These are unexploited market gaps.

Yeah, it's unfortunately that BMW left DPC off the X4 it seems, so we're stuck with just performance control. The Macan does come standard with EBD, but PTV Plus costs an additional $1290.

Even then, a Macan S decently loaded with PTV Plus, PASM and Sport Chrono is 65k, the X4 will come close to that just like the SQ5 Prestige does.

That's like comparing who would buy a X5 over a Cayenne using the same argument and the X5 is about $4-5k more expensive than the Porsche.

Interesting that 30d will be delivered with 211hp and 258hp version with six cylinders, and not with four cylinders like x25d 211hp (125d, 325d, 525d, X5 25d). That is good news!
