bavarian19 wroteI think the X6 and X4 can stay.I believe an X7 would actually make sense. Look at the MB GL class. They do pretty darn well sales wise.
Cars that need to go: 5GT, 3GT, X6, X4, 4GC.
Cars I want to see in the states: 1 series 5 door (priced appropriately).

SCOTT26 wroteThanks for furthering my thought and point. Really frustrating to keep reading comments asking "why?" or reading "pointless". Maybe theres a clear alternative for BMW to make money on their own that I'm not seeing. I'm curious to read/hear those who are complaining, their thoughts on how BMW can compete on a global scale against Mercedes and Audi. The X6 is far from failure.
X6 exceed initial projections of first two years sales by selling twice initial projection of 80,000 units instead of projected 40,000 units.
This is significant because X6 is a low volume niche model.
The X6's success is why competitors are in the final stages of development of their Sport Activity Coupe model because initially expected as the largest market for the X6- The US is actually the fifth largest market.
Its success in China and Russia , Brazil and the Middle East is why manufactures are pushing forward their competitors.
Now we bring the X4 again ahead of our competitors.

I somewhat like this as an alternative to the X3 or Audi Q5. Did BMW really need to make this? No. Should've focused on making the long awaited X7!! The Mercedes GL needs competition!

It is much better than the X3. Price point is not so bad. Lease options better be great for these to move.

Different variations and colours (pics from carscoop) note that the headlights are different in their LED versions.

BMW-ALPINA wroteThe f82 m4 doesn't have LED taillight s though, they're still bulbs.I think it looks cool, but what happens to the outstanding tail lights and ugly looking front bumper?
And SCOTT26. Can you please tell us why BMW don´t offer LED tail lights for new BMWs? In DTM, BMW said the F32/F82 "M4" got LED tail lights for safety. So why the hell haven´t new models LED tail lights? Or isn´t safety important for street cars? Even the E46 Cabrio/Coupe from 2004 have full LED tails.

I like it! I think it has its place in the line-up. Thank God a lot of ppl here don't run BMW. Of course BMW has to create niche models like the 3/5 GT, X6, X4, etc because they are not owned by a large volume corporate parent and have to extend development cost across as many models as possible. Audi has VW, Lexus has Toyota, and Mercedes has Nissan/Renault (unfortunately). On the contrary BMW is not the old GM....BMW is badge engineering more smartly than GM.
I would take the Macan over the X4 mostly because it probably handles better.

Porsche Macan is going to kick its butt, what is BMW thinking, dropping a low engineered ugly looking vehicle to clear its parts bin...
The design of the front and the rear does not gel with the coupe-like shape, its not looking as dynamic as X6... it looks dull as the X3... The interior is a disaster...Looks like no diesel option for US.

I found the source of carscoops. www.bmw.com has put online the x4, you can configure the car. No more Space grey, it has been replaced by a darker grey called Sophisto grey.

Very , very nice!
I really like it is balanced in sportiness and elegance.
Although I miss her a more dynamic engine with 6 cylinder 340hp.
I hope the suspension is very firm.

Porsche executives must be laughing and opening the Champagne since the Macan will walk all over this thing. Sad.

I fornicating love it, especially in that red, I wonder what it will look like in a charcoal grey or black, or a nice hue of blue like the concept. I don't need an SAV in the stable but this is really tempting. Looks better than the X6 to me.
Now would this go against the Q5 & Macan? If so, what else is it up against?

The X4 will be significantly less...
I love me a Macan too - but Porsche leases are prohibitively bad vs BMW (and I lease)

Finally! It's really good looking, not to everyone's taste but not my problem.
Only detail I would've changed is the steering wheel. Why the 'old' M Sport?
