HEY guys X3 are great to drive!! We have done 20,000km in three months. Only put 20 inch wheels on your car if you only want to look at it rather than drive it.

Your tyre will cost more!

Your tyres will wear out quicker! even had a BMW salesman say that he has seen the bloody things worn out at 10,000km!!

The ride will deteriate, but that won't matter if you only want to look at your car!

18 inch for driving anything bigger for just looking at it!!

KF
My X3 rides 10x times better with my current setup in comparison to the OEM 19" rims on Goodyear LS RFT's. The handling is much improved along with much improved tread wear in comparison to the OEM Goodyear tires which have a subpar rating. I also have retained enough sidewall height to effectively absorb most ruts and rough road surfaces without worry. I have no plans of going to MOAB or the Sahara, but for wet and sometimes flooded road surfaces we encounter in South Florida, I couldn't be happier :thumbsup:

Here is mine. 20 wheels do make the ride a little harsher.. But not too bad..

Hey how are 22" (or possibly 21") going to be? I am looking at the Hamann/Alpina style rims...
I live in FL so roads are actually pretty good overall...

Here's my f25 with 20" Kelleners Sport staggered setup. It actually offers more comfort with the 20" compared to the 19" runflat tires that I use in the winter.

Here you go. It's not exactly an on-stilts look, so I'm pleasantly surprised about the remaining wheel-to-fender gap. The local dealership has these package deals on special right now so looks like they've been flying off the shelves.

X3 has noticeably sharper reflexes, grip over stock 18" with all season Pirelli P7... and a mildly worse ride (let's call that 20%)

^^^ Sweet kicks. Looking at 20's myself and saw some used 20" X5 rims on my local Craigs. 20x10 front 20x11 rear. Will they fit my 2005 X3?

Those wheels are really nice. Here is mine with pre-owned 310M wheels. Just put them on.

I'm also curious if 245/45-20 all four corners would fit?

According to tire rack is recommended 245/40-20 for 28i xDrive and 245/40-20 front and 275/35-20 rear for 35i xDrive

I have experience from X4 with 20" 310-rims- same chassis as X3. DDC.

Very good steering and handling - at least in Sport + mode. A Little harsh on "bad" roads - but OK for me. A bit soft and non-distinct in Comfort mode.

The petrol six and 8-speed makes it a dream to drive :o

i'm told that is the recommended maximum on the X3.

i haven't swapped mine out yet but will swap to those specs soon.
