How much deviation from factory tire sizes will mess with traction control (DSC/MDM)?
Going to get aftermarket wheels soon and spec'ing out my tire sizes.
What % deviation from factory tire sizes would mess with DSC/MDM and make it go off more often than with factory tires? Think any of these size setups would do that? 265/35/19 (f) and 295/35/19 (r) 265/35/19 (f) and 305/30/19 (r) Thanks all. |

US MDM are very sensitive. To help with sensitivity, code your car with Euro MDM. This will help, but be careful as the tail will want to kick out more.
Stock setup is 2.6% taller in the rear. It's tolerable +/- 1%. Ideal would be 275/30/19 front and 305/30/19 rear or 275/30/19 front and 295/30/19 rear or 265/30/19 front and 295/30/19 rear. That would put you between 1.8%-2.8% delta between front and rear. 265 is safest to clear K&W CS, although 275 would be fine if you follow my offset recommendation. 265/35/19 front would put it 8mm taller than stock. Although it won't rub, you can't run taller tires in the rear to reduce MDM intervention. To clear 295 in the back, consider: 10:5" ET34-36 and 11" ET38-40. To clear 305 in the back, consider: 11" ET40-42 Front: Just run 9.5" ET20-23
