Retrofit hands free kick tailgate in 2022-2024 X3

Does anyone know what the part number of the control unit A239 is for LCI G01 2022+?

From the diagram in the reply below:
I01025 part is 61-35-8-494-949 $35
I01024 part is 61-35-8-494-948 $35
A239 part is ?? Dealer is unable to order.

I unscrew the 7 screws beneath the bumper, plug in and tape the A239 on top of the dummy control unit, then I VO code in the BDC module, the option should show up on ID7:

VAM_ENABLE_SMART_CLOSE => aktiv
VAM_SMART_OPENER => aktiv

MGU
BACKDOOR_SMO_INSTALLED => aktiv

Silly question but are you sure you dont have it already? I found out my 2020 M40i had it by accident one day. I didnt think it had it because its a fairly basic optioned spec.

It doesnt have because i checked FA editor and the sticker both showed 32X hands free delete -$100. Which is very unfortunate because I think hands free is one of the only fairly priced options BMW excluded on 2022 models.

I really miss this feature. I was just telling my husband today that I need to start calling some dealers or find the parts online so we can add it. My dealer was no help.

According to the G20 thread, installing it is relatively simple. The sensors should already be there but plugged into a dummy A239 control unit. Just unplug the three cables into a real A239 control unit duct taped to it. Here is a youtube tutorial:
Then enable 32X on FA editor and VO code the options in BDC ECU. I rather not order from dealer, they won't install it anyways. I just don't know the A239 control unit part number to order off eBay

I think this is the part: https://www.ebay.com/itm/235424544908

BMW X3 Smart Opener Control OEM 61355A3F3E8 / 5A3F3E8

If the control unit works, seems all X3 is already equipped with the 61-35-8-494-949 and 61-35-8-494-948 sensors

Is the VO coding necessary? I only have BimmerCode.

I'll answer your pm publicaly, so it may help others. I listed the part numbers of the modules in the below thread. There may be more part numbers now, I dont have a way of checking.

kevinm03 so i just need to unscrew the bolts with wrench here and the upper and lower kick sensors should be connected to a dummy control unit hidden?
