What did you do to your G01 X3 today?

Just returned from a 2600 mile road trip. As noted, first real trip since Covid-19 occurred shortly after purchase and cancelled trips.

Very impressed with how well the X3 all sorts of roads and weather (temps from mid 20s to mid 70sF, rain, fog, a little snow) on the trip. Extremely comfortable even after 10 or 11 hours straight. Overall mpg for the trip which included many mountain passes and twisties, about 60% in the 70s to 80s mph, was 29.3 mpg. All but the twisties was driven in Comfort mode, and the twisties were driven in Sport Plus.

Ended up getting a small (under a quarter dollar diameter size) chip/crack in the windshield on the lower driver side. Will see about getting it Safelite repaired. No other paint chips from trip.

She'll get a well deserved bath today.

Been thinking about trying mine sideways. I know instructions say they can be used either way. Do you find that moving sideways instead of back (or forward) any more comfortable/easy to work with?

Had a small crack in the windshield repaired by Safelite. While it is most probably an unfortunate coincidence, this is the first crack since owning her. Actually not only got the stone chip crack, but also several other non-crack chips on this last 2500 mile trip and all after using a new nano ceramic coating on the windshield that was alleged to increase by 20% the scratch and shatter resistance.

Repair by Safelite completely fixed (visually) the cracks and only left a small indent from the rock.

This is the hit/crack prior to Safelite fix.

BMW has the weakest windshield ever produced. From 1975 to 2019 (over half of million miles), I got 2 windshield chips across 8 different vehicles (Russian, American, Japanese and Canadian build).

In the last 11 months, I got 5 fingernail chips; 3 on my 2020 X3 and as a bonus I got 2 today on my 2022. I barely heard the noise, got outside and sure enough and both in my line of sight

I have seen others report similar concerns regards the apparent ease which X3 windshields get pitted and chipped. In my 40+ cars other than the X3 I have only had one get a windshield crack and that was a Porsche.
