2013 X3 35i - What to pay for brakes and rotors?
Car is off warranty so took it to a local indy (never been there before), says brakes need doing, i guess they are due but it only has 60,000KM (40,000 miles).
Assuming they do need doing, he wants a little over $1,400 for the job, seems excessive to me or am I just being a little ignorant here? What have you paid in the past and do you always go with OEM parts from BMW? 'Mericans, don't bother doing the exchange conversion it's irrelevant. |

There is a brake monitoring system on the car that can give you some indication of brake life. There are pad sensors that will indicate that replacement should be done.
Still it’s possible that they somewhat worn, maybe a pulsing pedal or the pads are glazed. The X3 tend to wear the rear pads first. So the assertion that all 4 wheels require immediate replacement is suspect. |
