Hi all
I’m Uk based I will need to have my tyres changed within month or 2. I’m willing to go for 255/295 setup Michelin PS4 SUV Buying from Costco or Oponeo - all depends on price. My only concern is - BMW approved or normal ? I don’t get what’s the difference between these two ? If not star rated, Can they be some different Sizes so can mess up transmission? Or they are made of different compounds ? Can’t find any precise and sensible info. Your opinion will be appreciated Thanks ! |

Been reading through this post. Great suggestions. I have a question. Really like the look of the new Audi SQ7’s with the large 22” (285/35 R22 109Y XL’s). Like the low profile, large tire look. I have a 2022 X3 sDrive. Even though % is at 4.5, can I offset by -10mm w/o issue or would it be better to just go with 265/40/21 or 255/295 set up for the look?

Hi guys, read all the posts here, wondering if 265/40 front with 295/35 rears on OEM 21's will work without rubbing on my M40 ? From what I understand, the front might be on the limit, but the rear shoud be fine.
Saw a post here with somebody running 265/40 but with spacers, wondering if without spacers will I be fine? Thanks |

How are the tire working out for you? Are the 255/40 21 and 295/35 21 creating any rubbing or fender touching issues? |

Actually, as I got no reply, I mounted the Kumho 265/40 front with 295/35 rear and I have no issues at all, no spacers, no nothing. Have done about 1000km in a month, no problems. The only thing I see is a slight worse gas mileage, but not crazy.

It's almost three years and 25K miles since I switched to the Pilot Sport AS 4 (255/40/R21 & 295/35/R21). Here is a quick note about my experience. These tires look fantastic and beefy. No bulging or fitment issues. Not rubbing. Noise level is acceptable to me. Went through one of the worst snow storms in Tahoe in years and they handled it like a champ. They are rated 45K and I was expecting to get a bit more out of them. I have roughly 4mm on 3 tires with even wear but the front passenger is unevenly worn down to 2 so it's time for new tires. I see some peeling, a hairline crack running down the groove on one tire. The peeling started to show recently. I really don't have any major complaints. These tires have taken a lot of beating. I am sure I would have blown at least one or two tires had I stayed on the OE Bridgestones. One annoying thing though is a tramline effect when changing lanes or in a straight line with a bit of unevenness. I have played with air adjustments to no avail.
So, I'm thinking about another option for my next set. Michelin Primacy Touring A/S has been mentioned several times. This option wasn't available back in 2022 if I recall correctly. The interesting thing about them is availability in OE sizes. I suspect with narrower tires, there will be less tramline effect but am concerned with the lower speed rating. Would appreciate thoughts, comments on the Primacy choice. |

I'm glad I found this thread. I'm thinking about picking up a set of 718M for my x3 m40i, but the stock 245/40/21 275/35/21 tire options are slim. I don't want to do a summer/winter set and was looking at the VREDESTEIN QUATRAC PRO+. They have options in 255/40/21 295/35/21 and they are 3PMSF. Anyone have any experience with these? I honestly don't even know if I need 3PMSF. I daily drive in NYC and the snow is hit of miss every year, but I don't have the option to call out of work just because of snow.
Also would. I be able to run 15mm spacers all around with the 718M? |

I saw mention of running pilot sport 4 suv tires on the 718m but after looking couldnt find staggered sizes to stay within 1% diameter.
Anyone ever run these and what sizes? |

Yea that's the problem with these 718m. There's such a slim selection for tires if you aren't looking for summer tires. I'd mess around with the tire calculator and figure out some combos where the diameter difference is under 1%, and also don't forget to make sure the circumference is close to the stock number so your speedometer reads the speed right.... And oh also don't go too wide or else you won't have strut clearance...

Won't the bigger sidewalls change the speedometer readings?
