A heads up that the BMWUSA build website now shows the 2019 MY. I ordered my M40i on Saturday (8/4/18) and today the status changed from "Scheduled for Production" to "Production Begins" with an assigned VIN (last 4, 3340).
ETA: Called the Genius hotline and the vehicle is scheduled for completion on 8/18 and to call back on the 20-21 for an idea of when it'll reach the dealer. I never did ask for a build date so it was a surprise to see the process happening so quickly. Last edited by Florg; 08-09-2018 at 10:33 AM.. Reason: Additional info |

I confirmed my order 7/31/18 and dealer told me that status is 112 "Scheduled for daily production pack" Without an actual VIN I cannot register the vehicle into MyBMW garage to check the status. |

If you read back several pages in this thread you'll see all that info -- some of us had 2019 vehicles go into production in late July and have been tracking for the last 2-3 weeks (and the vehicles are being transported as we speak). All you need to register on MyBMW is the production order number, which your dealer can give you.

MyBMW was great when tracking inside the plant, but once it gets to a carrier...not so much.
As the Genuis told me, between carrier assigned and the processing facility at the end port nothing is really known. Can't track a train in America |

Were all in a holding pattern until the engineering hold and market release holds are removed. It's a shame BMW doesn't have a timeline on those being removed considering they're clearly pumping out M40is. Looks like over 500 so far judging by the vins posted in this thread.

Anyone hear anything about the reason for the hold? It looks like the 2019 M40i received approval from the EPA and the CARB back in February

My 30i was ordered 7/6. Genus had earlier told me scheduled completion 8/8, then on Monday they changed that to 8/10 (tomorrow). As of today the web still shows "production starts". and the automated number says "at port". And Genus just told me that it is still scheduled for completion 8/10. What to believe? Oh well.
I haven't heard anything about production holds on the 30i. Does anyone know if the 30i is affected by holds? Also, I asked Genus about shipping and was told for delivery to Denver the car would go to California first by train, and then back to Denver from there by truck. Darn, I hope this "genus" was wrong on the routing. |

They even send a couple of photos of the vehicle on the assembly line and put the owners name on the window sticker. The last part is a nice touch. |

Genius told me the engineering hold on all 2019 X3 Xdrive vehicles was lifted yesterday. The hold was supposedly because BMW didn't want any of these vehicles released until they could officially be sold. That day was today. That's why the pricing along with build your car is now available on bmwusa.com
