Bill, I just called genius and mine is still in quality check. 3 days now. Can't be good. Guess that's what happens when a vehicle starts assembly on Saturday and is completed on Monday.

Bob, At least they caught it now, maybe just a paint flaw or hopefully something simple but they needed time to get to it. ---Bill. |

Just found ours started production yesterday. I guess it’s too early to be clicking off stages. Scheduled completion date 8/15. We are East Coast, so just a truck ride away. |

Mine just moved again, says...
DISPATCHED FROM FACTORY, "Your new BMW has left the factory, and is on its way to you." Could be loading for it's train ride west. Bob, I'll try and hold this train! But you need to get out of "Quality Check" so we can share this ride. ---Bill. |

The automated system and a genius both confirmed it has left. I've been having tons of problems with the tracker lately. I just got it to load for the first time today. |

But I wouldn't base too much off the tracking -- it's clear to me by now that it's not very responsive or timely. For all we know it will still show as being in QC after you take delivery. The other possibility is that your vehicle was grabbed off the line for a test drive. I know they do that with every so many that come down the line. I wouldn't expect a three day test drive, but I guess if the car shows up with 100 miles on the odo, upside down footprints on the dash, and Natural Light beer cans in the back, you know you got the SC redneck quality evaluation. |

I first tried the automated system, which told me my car was still at the port. While yesterday the automated system told me it was in transit. I spoke with a representative and they looked up the tracking and their system showed that the car was put on a train on 8/4/2018 and has an estimated arrival date of 8/19/2018. My Garage on bmwusa.com still says at the port. The representative said both automated systems are really out of date though. While I'm happy they now say it will arrive one day earlier...I'm also concerned with all the contradicting information. Especially since once the car is put on a train they have no way of tracking it! What was the last four of your VIN? My car was number 2565. |

You guys at least have the option to track your order. Here in Europe, we rely on information from the dealer. Mine is unfortunately very bad, so I'm just waiting impatiently for a call or email, that the car arrived, which should be in September. Consider yourself lucky.

Everyone should check with BMW genius...MyBMW still says "Awaiting Carrier Assignment" but they just told me that the car has already cleared VPC and is scheduled to be at the dealer (northeast) on Saturday!

I just called bmw genius and they said the engineering hold and market release holds have definitely not been taken off any 2019 M40i and there's no possibility any are on their way to any dealers as of yet. As of this point the completed cars are just en route to their final processing centers based upon where they will ultimately be delivered. Also worth noting, I raised a compliant with BMWNA concerning something else and had them look into the timeline further and someone from higher up within BMW confirmed all the same stuff.

First my X3 gets completed 3 days after scheduled, which then ran into week 32, not a big deal but it started assembly on a Saturday and finished on a Monday. Bad omen. Now it's been sitting for 3 days because of some engineering hold, which I just heard was has been released and now it missed the train ride with yours out to the west coast. They only have 1 train a week coming out here. I've had a funny feeling for a week now that I'm going to turn this X3 down when it gets to the dealer. Having owned my current 2018 M40i for almost 10 months now, I'm just not that excited to get this car anymore. I might start looking at some other vehicle. But I hope I'm wrong and it works out. Maybe they expect the hold to clear by Saturday? I'm in NJ so if my car is actually at a VPC I can see it being delivered to the dealer within a day or two. |
