I stuck with my local dealer.

Like others, I am not too keen on the general car buying process - too many variables on pricing. The forum is super helpful, but depending on where you live you might feel like you're getting hosed.

My local dealer also seriously low-balled my trade in. They offered $15K which was significantly below the KBB trade in value. Happily, my CA told me to go to CarMax, which I immediately did, and they offered $21K which was a couple of grand more than I would have taken from BMW. When I dropped the CarMax quote on his desk he felt embarrassed (and rightly so). What a huge difference. All together I am feeling good about the whole thing.

Anyway, I am really excited - I placed the order yesterday for a fully loaded M40i with PCD hopefully the first week of April. I can't wait to hit the Tail of the Dragon on my way home.
Congrats on your order. Mind if I ask which CA you worked with? I'm getting ready to place an order for June delivery and I'm also in Indy.

Probably a dumb question, but after locking in a deal and you are waiting for the car to be built, you can get the best incentives and rates available between then and the time you take delivery. Is it possible to combine the MF from one month and the other incentives from a different month?

I guess not, but worth asking :-)

No combining, one or the other, whatever is better.

15% off msrp sounds pretty damned good to me. I didn't get anywhere near that.

New 19 X3 M40i bought off the lot last month after lurking quite some time for a good price in the northwest:

Code:
Exterior: Dark Graphite
Interior: Oyster
Trim: Gray Poplar Wood
Wheels: 20" Summers
Sport Front Seats
DA+
Executive
HK Surround
Wireless Charging
Adaptive M Suspension
SunVisor
Trailer Hitch

MSRP 67820
dealer discount 4380 (6.4%)
sales tax 5455 (8.6% at the dealership, 1.8% off from local tax rate)
rebate & incentive 4500 (6.6% after tax)
license & reg 771
doc fee 150
Total 65316
Was planning to do a custom build, but went with this one on the lot since it's pretty close to what I wanted. Would substitute the sun visor for rear heated seats, but neither would be used much.
Leasing was my first option, but went with financing at last for the better incentive. Now I don't need to be worried about how many miles I have left.

Envy folks who live close enough to do PCD. Only heard good things about the experience.

Looking back it was laughable when I called my local dealer for a quote back in August and got "there's only $500 discount from MSRP".

Thanks. Just wanted a fair price in the unhealthy market of the northwest area.

Congrats on your build and enjoy your new ride to come!

It’s a tough market in the NW for more than just BMW. I bought an enclosed race trailer last summer and saved 7K but I drove to East of Dallas and back in 7 days. Cost me 2K in expenses but a nice savings.

I thought about doing that with a X3 and did some searching but the really good deals were on the East coast. I was not up for another bonsai trip!

If you are adventurous enough, you can also buy from out of state dealers' lots, sight unseen, and have the car shipped to you afterwards. There are at least one member who had done it here. Check some earlier posts in this same thread.

Looking for some advice...planning to lease an X3 30i for the wife over the next couple months. We're down in FL, what kind of % off MSRP should I be gunning for? I know it varies greatly from state to state and FL is notorious for high doc fees on top of that...

Looks like a solid deal. Can you elaborate on the $4500 rebate/incentives?

1000 Conquest
2500 BMWFS credit
1000 Lunar New Year credit

Was better than the corporate sales discount which couldn't stack with anything else.

2019 X3M40i LEASE DEAL QUESTION

Hey everyone,

Wanted to run this lease deal past you all. I ordered an X3M40i through a dealership I've leased from before back in Jan. They allowed me to order through them for a lease before finalizing the deal, and we're just starting to talk numbers. The car FINALLY arrived yesterday and just working out the deal with them.

Here's the build:
https://www.bmwusa.com/byo.html#!/build/color/dvksro7m

VIN: 5UXTS3C50K0Z10247
MSRP: $66,970 (I added something minor which brought it up a bit from the build I submitted)..

Think I can do better than this?

leasehackr.com/calculator?make=BMW&msrp=66970&sales_price=61000&m onths=36&mf=.00177&dp=6000&doc_fee=80&acq_fee=925& taxed_inc=0&untaxed_inc=0&rebate=0&resP=59&reg_fee =400&sales_tax=9&memo=&monthlyTax_radio=true&miles =10000&msd=0

I think you can probably do a little better. Your discount is a little under 9% off MSRP, which is not terrible, but I'm not seeing any incentives listed. Do you qualify for the $1250 loyalty incentive? There is also a $500 lease incentive available.

One question is about the residual. For 12,000 miles I believe the residual is currently 58%? Maybe it has changed recently, but I don't think so....

Edit: Never mind about the residual. Something weird happened with the link in my forum email. I see now it is for 10,000 miles, so 59% is correct.
