Most of the brokers on leasehackr are giving 6-8% off MSRP on x3m40i leases, so of them will put a sale together for a similar deal if you pay their commission (usually about $500)
The 1k loyalty and 500 military is correct if financed with BMWFS. If not financed with BMWFS then there is no loyalty and the military discount is 3k.

Anyone know how much discount (% off MSRP) can be had on the X3 M40i once the new X3 is unveiled in July? I'm in Canada, so maybe the discounts we get off MSRP isn't anything like what Americans get.

Also, how about the online configurator and ordering window for that, when will it close when various sites suggested that BMW South Carolina will start building the new X3 as soon as August?

This is the deal I have in front of me for a X3 M40i.

End of May build and PCD delivery
MSRP: $68,695
Discount: -$4,121.70
Military: -$3,000.00
Admin: $399.00
Total: $61,972.30

Right at 10% off

They are saying I won't be eligible for 3.99% financing. I would have to go external or BMWFS "regional rate".

Current discounts are 6-8% but you can only guess at potential discounts. And if you wait until July, it's highly likely you will have to choose from whatever is on lots/ en route.

I've been told 2024 allocations for x3 M40 end in July. AFAIK, the online configurator for G01 will close as soon as the one for G45 turns on.

BMW isn't building a lot of M40s and will probably taper off even more as we get close to model end.

6-8% off before rebates and buy rate on MF/APR is the right number for those shopping

Crystal ball says M50 will have a nice price increase so the last of the M40s will be in high demand so I wouldn't bank on a bigger giveaway discount.

There could still be a chance the dealer could order those colors. It wasn't uncommon in 2022 to add things like HK or Parking Assist which weren't on the consumer configurator.

Not sure if you took that deal or not, but when I ordered mine via my local dealer with an allocation spot, I was told no discount could be had off MSRP. I checked with my other local dealer and was told the same thing. So the fact you're getting 4K off MSRP strikes me as pretty good!

If you haven't signed a contract, find someplace else to buy your M40. Should be able to get 6-8% off MSRP (before discounts) on an order if you shop around beyond your 2 local dealers.

Sadly that ship has sailed for me. Order was placed a while back. I pick up my vehicle in a couple of days. All the paperwork is long since done.

Unfortunate. There are a ton of resources online. I would try to leverage them before your next local purchase at msrp as you overpaid substantially.

Oh well, ya win some/ ya lose some ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Before your next purchase or lease, I recommend spending a bit of time on Leasehacker to research the best current deals.

Most importantly, congrats on your new ride! It's gonna drive the same no matter what you paid

Thanks. There's always a better deal to be had, of course. I am happy with the car, so I am not going to fret over the terms. I'm curious how it works going through a broker, since that process is new to me. We have two local dealerships here. If I didn't buy through either one of them and instead went through a broker, how do I get the vehicle? Who handles the titling of the car, etc?

Depends on the broker. Some will deliver to your home, others you'll need to go to their office. At some point you will likely need to sign in person or with a notary. I use a guy whose office happens to be very close to my home & he has the cars delivered there. But if he hadn't been able to get me the right deal, I was prepared to pick up in LA area (about 6hrs away.) A long drive home could be a great way to chew through some of those break-in miles and get to know your new ride

Got it. So they take care of filing all of the titling paperwork, too? And dealing with the DMV, paying the fees, etc etc?

The out of state dealership would handle this. They typically go through a third party titling company and you get temporary plates in the meantime.

They The broker doesn’t help with this. Just think of them as a relationship to a discounting dealer that you are accessing by paying a fee to the broker. Nothing more than an introducing agent . Once introduced you typically deal with an SA at that dealer who sends papers and terms etc. Dealers typically don’t give single clients this access bc they do not have as many deals behind them. At least this is how the brokers work on leasehackr

Got it. I looked into buying a car at one point from two dealerships in Wisconsin (I live close to the border), and each of them said they couldn't handle titling my vehicle in Minnesota. I assume the broker has capabilities those other dealers don't. I definitely wouldn't have time (or be interested) in driving a long distance to get a new car, so they'd have to deliver it to me. Also, how does it work when you have a trade-in?

Got 3k off MSRP on x3 m40i in Denver just a couple weeks ago. Not the best, but everyone else in this area was telling me only MSRP on custom orders.

I talked to a couple folks out of state, but by the time you factor in logistics of getting it home, it was a wash. Also, the out of state titling process seemed like a huge pain in the dick.

Yea TBH some other states may introduce titling challenges that I would be unaware of. You can always arrange your own shipping but that will start to eat into your savings. Say 1500 or more to ship across the states

You can add a trade in into the deal NP - however my experience - the dealers that provide these discounts are not super generous on trade ins. Logically this makes sense to me if you’re saying a new car is at an 8% discount their valuation of used cars should take into account this haircut.

Helpful, thanks. All in all, even though I paid MSRP, it sounds like I saved myself a lot of hassle with the titling, and I actually got a really good number for my trade (above Bluebook, which is pretty good for a dealer trade, I think), so I suspect going the broker route wouldn't have made much of a difference -- and been a bigger headache.

Still useful info for next time!
