Anyone have any real world experience with these yet. Just switched to MPS 4SUV from worn MPS4S. Same size as the MPS4S at 255/40R21 and 295/35R21. Obviously comparison of a worn and a new tire isn’t always absolutely accurate.

Tires seem soft. They go over the highway dots and smaller bumps like driveway gutters softer and less crashy. Don’t know 100% if this is exactly how the MPS4S felt brand new as well. Haven’t really ran them in yet as it’s only been a few days. Hoping they last a long while like the MPS4S. Got about 25k miles out of that set. They wore down way better and lasted much longer than the factory Alenzas. Fronts were wearing on outer edge and rears still had 3mm.
Also did an alignment. And for anyone asking about yearly or every other year alignments, just because you don’t hit anything or your car doesn’t ‘pull’ doesn’t mean your alignment angles aren’t out and you can’t benefit from an alignment.

I’ve been running MPS 4SUV for a few months now (245/45/21 and 275/40/21) and I’m still very pleased with comfort, grip and handling. Noticeably much softer than Alenzas, which initially felt a bit weird having driven bridgestone runflats on my last 5 BMWs, but now feels great, like the tyre is actually gripping the road rather than just sitting on top of the surface. Also noticed they warm up quicker and reach a higher temperature than the Alenzas, which presumably helps aid the grip and overall performance. I drove my local twisty route yesterday and they were excellent, so no complaints from me.

My tires are also worn on the outer side. The cord started to come through while the tire still had a mm or two in the middle.

I thought I read somewhere that the camber cannot be adjusted. Is this true?

I’m assuming you mean the fronts. Camber can not be adjusted. Wear on front outer is natural with BMW X vehicles with runflat tires.

Thank you for sharing your experience!

I'm still worried about the rears. Many users here run 295s, but I keep reading warnings everywhere because the wheels are 9.5".

Since these are the 2nd set of 295s tires, could you please share any thoughts about them? Any downside? Especially when pushing hard or under heavy load.

TIA

Already switched over non-rf on the front. Rears soon to swap.

Depends on dealer. Generally $200-$350.

Does that (usually) include a test drive to "make sure" after the alignment (with or without new tires) the steering wheel is at a "dead center" while driving on a non-crowned road? This sort of alignments at the dealer service by (master) tech seem to be a hit or miss, from my experience. Maybe my experiences are isolated to local dealer shops. In other words, at a "better" dealer shop, would you let the client drive off without first a test drive...

Or, if on existing tires, too many variables perhaps, despite the printout says all is lit "green", that the car can still drift on 12'o clock steering wheel driving on a non-crowned road? Or, not possible...

It’s pretty obvious that a tech should be test driving the car afterward to make sure the steering wheel is straight. I would recommend asking your service advisor which tech does quality alignments at your dealer and request they do it. Not all techs are the same, same as any employee at any business.

Ok, that makes sense.

Then, is adjustment with this thing called "tie-rod" a legit way to fix to have the steering wheel that was "tad bit off to the left, ~11'o clock" ? Or, was that a bad idea? In other words, is "tie-rod" adjustment another part of doing alignment?

This just goes to show what my knowledge is in alignment.

Sometimes after performing an alignment the alignment machine will show straight and you adjust to that. Then you go drive it and it’s slightly off. Sometimes we do a quick toe adjustment evenly on both sides to essentially just move the steering wheel alignment.

In the UK, my dealership charges £275 for an alignment, which is quite expensive IMO but it is what it is I guess.

That’s awesome that those sizes fit on the OEM rims with no issues.

I’ve been pulling my hair out over the last few days trying to find an all season tyre in the OEM sizes for 21” rims in the UK and they don’t exist matched front and rear.

I can get Michelin Cross Climate 3 in the 255/40/21 & 295/35/21 sizes and tire.com shows those sizes as working.

I wouldn’t have thought those sizes would have fitted on the 8” & 9.5” rims.

Thank you.
