I think the M8 doesn't use a cover over the transmission pan, right?

Are you going to put the pan cover back on or leave it off?

reinstalling it to prevent it getting hit with debris but will enlarge the opening vent to help airflow to it.

Do you know the part number on the OEM pan that fits?

24-11-9-503-407 alum ( m cars)
24-11-5-A13-115 plastic

If you Google pic the part number you'll see the fins are huge which will help given the extra fluid for similar dimension pan.

Will take pics when I install it, but I think there are undercarriage panels and I thought there is a small slit directing ait towards the pan area.

If you have a ' thermal temp gun' to measure heat, please use it before and after at idle and after a sprint. That'll be really helpful to the community. I got one a temp gun from Amazon for like 15 or $20.

Update: inpower pan is in but beware the stock pan that came off my sav has a secondary smaller pickup and filter that clips into the stock filter. It may fill the solenoid for start/stop? Anyway reinstalled the smaller filter into its natural place and secured it with zipties as the inpower pan does not have a provision to hold the small tube.

No issues as I also reflashed my trans back to stg 3 and have been driving around and romping on it.

As for Temps on old pan I was at 171 f and with the new pan I'm seeing around 166-168 f as per my jb4 readings.

Conclusion..eh. not much of temp change and the small pickup piece. So not worth it? Don't know only been a few hrs. But trans fuild change next time only cost 80 bucks for filter renew kit from inpower.

Nice! My m8 pan goes in Friday! I wrapped my pipes in thermal wrap to further reduce temps.

Did you remove the downpipes for the install too? I don't see them in your photos?

No the downpipe isn't in the way of the trans pan.

Also the smaller filter is used for the auto start/stop function solenoid, Inpower will hopefully be making a pan cover for that extra filter in the future.

So bes aware when you change your pan if OEM or aftermarket, make sure the pan will have the extra provision for the smaller filter for the vehicles with start/stop option. I coded auto start/stop off btw.

Super helpful and thanks for sharing. I also got rid of auto start stop though using xhp via the tcu. I didn't get the extra smaller filter so I'll probably just reuse the existing one. I'm only at 25k miles so it'll be fine and I'm hoping the oem pan matches up. I'll post pics as well Friday evening.
