265's fit the front 9.5' wheels perfectly and that's what Michelin recommends. 295's on the rear 10.5'' is at the limit of the rim width but will work fine. There should be absolutely no fitment issues.

I just had mine installed today, so I’ll add pics in a few. I did notice a slightly more comfortable ride and more responsive turning. I do think the tires fit a lot better than the stockers.

Mike, please throw some pics if you can. I bought last year pilots AS 4 but in stock sizes, cause 295 tire was not available. I see now on tirerack that eventually 295 is in stock. I sold stock sizes to my buddy he has x3m too. so in September I'll go with 265 295 setup pilots as4. may be will get 10mm spacers for more aggressive stance but still don't know yet if I should.

Sorry it took me a few to get some pics up. I tried to get some good angles, but it still looks better in person. I have the IND appearance kit with the 12/12 spacers and I think the fit is pretty flush with the wheel well.

Is anyone running stock size upfront (255/40) with 295/35 on the rear? Leaning towards this set up since the sidewall heights are a close match. My main concern is too much of difference in width- Any thoughts?

Thanks for the pics! How is the ride compared to stock set up? Are you running spacers?

No spacers. Ride is great. Night and Day comparison to the Stock Conti. SC6. I should also add I had the "ISTA" software update performed,so that helped the ride some as well. I apologize for the quality of the pics, as they don't truly depict the profile.

Americas Tire is recommending the optional size of 265/35 front - 275/35 back for my 2021 X3MC. Is this suggested? I want more grip but don't want to throw off the stock dimensions much

Anyone else notice that the all-seasons have 10/32 tread vs 8/32 on the 4S? Obviously will help with tread life. Anyone think this affects performance of the tire?

the tread depth (called non-skid depth in the industry) is one of the biggest factors determining cornering stiffness of a tire. Less tread depth = stiffer with crisper cornering. The closer the steel belts are to the road, the less flex before you start turning. And, with less tread depth, you can afford to use a more hysteretic (grippier) tread compound without risk of overheating and blistering when going fast. Big meaty tread blocks without sipes also stiffen the summer performance tires vs AS.

The "racier" a tire, the lower the non-skid generally. True UUHP tires are almost always thinner for this reason (road-going "track" versions are often 6mm or less), race tires are thinner still (have you ever picked up a true race tire - light and thin, isn't is?).

Comparing an all-season to a summer tire isn't fair to either, each has a job to do. The summer will be useless in snow and even colder temperatures sometimes, the all-season lost on the track or true high-performance driving.

There is no tires with BMW OR MERC (GLS 63S, same as for x3m) spec, only normal 4s and it's different compound

Also grip will be worster than stock, the best for rear is 295-35-21 for the front 255-40 or 265-40, with 295-35 rear u can try 265-35 on front easy

I'm not sure what tires will be coming with my MY2022, but if they are anything but Michelins then I will definitely be upgrading.

that being said, exactly which spec did everyone go with? the M01 (Mercedes) MP4S or the star (BMW) MP4S?

I think people should realize that having certain tires at the front and rear are important since they can have a dramatic effect in the way the cars handle... especially in wet weather. moving rear tires to the front is basically a no-no and can cause hydroplaning. and generic MP4S will never be as good as manufacturer spec front and rear tire combinations.

I'm probably not gonna even think about getting the all seasons. I can't imagine them performing well in any type of weather, cold or hot. will definitely get a set of dedicated winter wheels for the upcoming season.

From Mersedes is even better, cuz is stock tires from GLC63s, they have 265-40 front and 295-35 as stock tires and has almost same weight.

p.s. All seasons tires is tires only for never go on the limit or fast, it's really strange to use on M car. if you not going fast, why ppl buy M instead of 40D or 30D

What would you suggest us in the NY area use during our winters….

A dedicated winter tire is really better then an All Season for "going fast"?

if u drive inside the city - tires does not matter, u always have grip on the straight, even in winter on summer tires.

I live in Portugal, there is no winter, but use winter set of tires to go to the Alps, where sometimes u put chains as well.

We have highways here also, with curves. And we have 'city style' driving.

We have freezing cold in winter. We have hot summers.

We get snow, but never enough to require snow chains or that can't be plowed in a matter of hours.

I don't think the Conti stock summers would be safe in the brutal cold.

I don't think winter tires would be necessary as we rarely actually need to drive through inches of snow.

So what is wrong with all seasons during our colder months? (As compared to winters). I'm genuinely asking

I run uhp all seasons in the winter as MD gets minimal snow and I don't travel where there is snow. Dedicated winters for me would be overkill
