Agreed. Throttle position seems to have nothing to do with the delay scenario. That used to frustrate me to no end, and I would even try flooring it and it would still delay just as long. I have to think it’s some kind of software bug in the throttle-by-wire system or the transmission software/hardware.

It’s scary as hell sometimes because it always seems to occur right when you’re slowing down to make a left turn, but cars are coming, and then you decide that you can make it. So, when you commit to the turn, and put your foot on the gas, nothing happens. Then it finally roars to life.
