That's an awesome commercial. Scenes are beautiful. Photography spot on. My only problem with it is that it doesn't really differentiate it as an alpina rather then just a standard bmw.
Sure you see the logo, but these days every bmw variant had a lot of logos on the back. If I showed this ad to any of my friends or family they would just assume it's a standard x3 commercial

IMHO, the wheels look very outdated for a modern suv. A 2015 model with 90's style rims just don't go together.
I know I know that's Alpina''s trademark wheels, but it has to go. It's about time they should give their wheels an update. Everything else is fine.

I agree the wheels are very old hat and there's little to say what's special about the Alpina version. Seems to be under-selling it.

Almost traded my X3 for this Alpina. test drove it in Nottingham. superior to the x3 but despite the good work alpina people did, nothing can save that 90´s interior and the Macan just proved superior in every way bar boot space. I prefer the exterior Alpina styling to the Macan´s but the Macan cudos to porsche is brilliant. Had to wait 18m for the thing (petrol S model) but boy o boy its a joy to drive. I havent had a new car put a smile on my face like the macan does in a long time.

Performance numbers
0 - 100 km/h in 4.9s with a diesel - that is serious performance.

Love those rims.
I guess theyr perfect from everything to an oldschool E34 to the present models. Had this setup on my E83 in 20", perfect imo. As for the Macan vs X3/4. Sure the lower, slightly smaller Macan means business. And the interiour of the F25 is embarresing flat, cheap and old looking. But it's not meant to be a super SUV, it's more of an average joe car, and by looking at it sales numbers, it sure looks like a sucsess to me.

I've had my Alpina XD3 for almost three months now and I'm still loving every minute of it. It's a spectacularly good car and puts a grin on my face every day. I looked at the Macan and the Audi SQ5 but the Alpina is just so much more special to me. I also get the sense that the Macan is going to be the next Evoque (i.e. fashion accessory) and they'll be everywhere. Driving the Alpina is a special occasion and I've only ever seen one other example on the road. Sadly, like most Alpinas, I don't think they'll be going to the USA.. the factory just isn't geared up for the volumes that would require. Certainly the best car I've ever owned (and that includes a number of M cars/Alpinas).
