Totaled out at $62,650 with all the options I do/do not want. WTF is up with the Premium package? I'm assuming if you choose the Nevada leather for $1450 but get the premium package you just pay an extra $750 to keep the Nevada but get Comfort Access, Lumbar support, and Satellite radio. It almost totals out spot on with my IS.

My config with X-Line came out to $57800 with destination. About $2-$3k over the same X3 and GLK. sounds bout right...i expected the number to hit $60k prior to release of pricing.
all the wheels are crappy options...where are all the nice one. The 310M is tedious to clean..nice but no thanks.
again...bmw premium pricing is getting RIDICULOUS
. my 2006 325i was $38k OTD back then....

I will replace my new 335i in 5 to 6 years, can you imagine how much a BMW will cost then? If today a 335i well equipped cost about 50k, the way things are going the same car will cost 62K
Not happy about it
In the other hand, a honda accord were 21k 7 years ago and today about 23k
The crazy thing about it is that bmw keeps breaking sales records every month.

What's the objective w/this X4? Market share, Market confusion, and/or Market cannibalization?

Not in the market for an X4 35i, but if I was, I would give serious consideration to the Porsche Macan S. An X4 35i M-Sport prices out at $60,750 for how I spec a fairly well equipped version. A similarly equipped Macan S prices out at $65,940. See attached PDF file.

I also believe it is unfair and ridiculous. For example the difference between 28 and 35 engines differs between the series...

I find these "OMG its so expensive" comments funny. Have people never heard of INFLATION. Of course things cost more year by year. Duh.
I priced it about 2,500 more than a similar X3. Not bad for a coupe-ier vehicle!

Too bad it born to live with Macan. Forever 2nd place. I am pretty sure BMW will come up with a killer lease deal to post their "record" sale though.

I am the target of this car, and I will get Macan S.
Yes its a 5-10 grand more with all the options but it is an emotional purchase from the getgo. If want wanted a 'deal' I would get X3 or Q5.
I have not driver either or seen in the flesh, but I don't doubt the Macan S would run circles around this in terms of both performance and premium build quality.
Over on the Macan forums, it seems more people are coming from BMW so I'm not alone thinking this...

I would take a 3 series wagon over this lump any day. It has a lower center of gravity for better handling, lighter weight for better acceleration and fuel consumption, and is much better looking IMHO.
BMW should offer more options on the wagon - manual, RWD, 335i drivetrain, etc. - and not waste their money on this thing. In Europe you see more wagons than sedans. Even the police cars in Munich are 320d wagons. If you want a SUV, get an X3 or X5. At least they have some carrying capability.

Front passenger seat is exclusively designed for the seeing-eye dog, right? Nice of BMW to keep releasing models for the visually impaired...

Macan ... the production is rather limited & there will be a LONG waiting list and the prices will be steep due to huge demand. Allocations are limited, and markets with higher profit margins have the priority. So not everybody who want a Macan will also get a Macan (soon enough). Porsche are ready to ramp up the Macan production but not as much to meet all the demand. Rather they will sell it to the people who are willing to pay more for it, at least in the first two years of the production. Don't expect any discounts either nor any super-special lease offers. It's a super-hot product by Porsche - and will be quite hard to get. And it won't come cheap.

Considered switching to Macan but my experience of Porsche reliability not great. Look at how Porsche is treating all those people with a 991 GT3. After the fires they are all off the road with no date when any fixes will be made. Could be months. Lots of unhappy people on forums.

bmw is trying to fill all the needs of everyone which sometimes, i wonder why but for now i don't reaaly care. the X4 is sportier than the X3, yes less space, but not everyday you're carrying aLOAD of stuff. beside, majority who buy it wouldn't be their only car to carry load. in my case, i already have the glk to do so.
