Lucky13 wroteMy CA here in Canada told me that N20 will be a 2013 model!!!Got the 2012 price list today, $100 price increase on the X3 28. The dealer seems to think they will introduce a diesel this year but they basically told me thatthey follow the BMW blogs because there is more information onhere than they get. I'm holding off for the N20 or diesel, whichever comes first I will buy.

Pinoyako wroteThat is what I was told by dealer as well. However, I think the 2012 MY will be short - only about 7 months, then the 2013s come mid-2012 with the N20.My CA here in Canada told me that N20 will be a 2013 model!!!

Pinoyako wrotewhy would they wait until 2013? I think its BS, he is trying to get you to buy a 2011 "since engines won't be changing". or maybe thats a April 2012 change since production on the 28i and 35i will stop in March 2012, maybe the Diesel and new 28i engines will be introduced. My CA here in Canada told me that N20 will be a 2013 model!!!
Since we are in August already, I don't see why anyone wouldn't wait a month to see for sure what the 2012s have, 2011s on the floor should be even cheaper if you decide to go that route.

Anyone know how Xenon headlights and Rear view camera can be ordered on 2012? I reviewed the list of changes and can't figure that out. Must be missing something.

If I have to wait until next summer for the N20 I'll just wait for the X1.

I think BMW has a lot of people waiting for that N20 engine (myself included, might not get it but want to consider it). If its not here in 2 months, I see some people going to a Audi Q5 hybrid instead of the X3, should be close in price when fully decked out.
I might just go for the 35i if its not out because our LR2 will hit 50K miles around January and I don't want to own it past warranty.

I already have a 335 convertible and I need something with really good gas milage since my wife is trading a Clubman S that gets around 28 mpg around town.

Lucky13 wrotewell its not a BMW, but the Range Rover Evoque gets 21/29 MPG which is pretty close to what the N20 engine will get, but the evoque might be a bit slower than the 28i (maybe a couple tenths).I already have a 335 convertible and I need something with really good gas milage since my wife is trading a Clubman S that gets around 28 mpg around town.

We must have 4 doors and I think Evoque only has 2 doors.

Evoq has either 2 or 4 doors.

Le Chef wroteyes both are available and I think the 4 door is cheaperEvoq has either 2 or 4 doors.

I remember when 2 doors used to be cheaper, now its all about marketing.
Anyway I think the 4 door looks a lot better, all these 2 door SUVs coming out look like crap in my opinion, I like the 4 door looks better.
But remember its space is less than a X3 (not in cabin but in rear) and you aren't getting a 4 year free maintenance plan and I can tell you from experience it will run you about $2K with Land Rover over those 4 years. BUT on the other hand the interior of the Evoque is nicer. And the Evoque is still bigger than a X1 (its inbetween the two BMWs)

Does 2011 production end before 2012 begins? Or is there overlap?
I am still waiting for a production date and I am wondering if I am safe to assume I will get an August date (as promised) or if it could be pushed back to September and I would still get an 2011.

Does anyone have the pricing for 2012 models yet? I know someone mentioned seeing it already, any links or pdf that can be posted? Curious to see the package changes

oh BMW you are so sneaky!
so base price is up $1350 on the 35i, basically you are paying in full for the pan moonroof and getting floor mats for free
Here is where it gets interesting, they are royally screwing everyone who didn't care about the comfort access (since it doesn't do much, car already has keyless start) and power tailgate (my wife and I can open and close a trunk without issues, have been doing it for our whole lives).
The new premium package is the same price as the old which some people might thing means you get the three new features (tailgate, access, and window shades) for free, but don't forget they removed the moonroof and added that to the base price! So basically you are paying $1350 more for features you might not want (as is the case with me). So the 35i in 2012 will cost me $1100 more (I was going to get the side shades) than it would have for a 2011 model. Not cool forcing us to get options we don't want because there are many options that require the premium package, so its either get it or get a base model, BMW is starting to remind me of Lexus.
I guess its even more reason for me to go with a 28i, where they did not combine the packages! but only if they have the new engine, which hasn't been confirmed if its for October release, April realease or 2013 release.
just did a little more analysis, the same car that costs $55,090 right now would be $55,375 for 2012 models with 3 notes:
1) you won't get the cargo net with that 55,375 price but would with the 55,090 price
2) you won't get the sirius radio or 40/20/40 split seats with the 55,090 price (which are useless options to me), but I guess to others are worth the $285 extra (even without cargo net)
3) no floor mats with $55,090 price, LOL
