I wasn't much of a fan of the last model X3's, but I gotta say, BMW did an amazing job with these.

Definitely night and day difference from the last X3.
I was going to get an X3, but decided to get the 2012 X5.
They are nice looking though.

A few of you have asked how the X3 M Sport rides with the 20" rims and RFT's.
Are the wheels forged and polished or just polished? Are they machine cut like the M3 wheels?

Whew, spent at least 10 hours washing and detailing today. Removed the side badges (I hate them), spent some time with the clay bar, gave her the first paint sealant and sealed the wheels. A few random shots I took because I was so proud of myself... ;)

Also, one with her big sister. Might have to plan a decent shoot of them together someplace. Black/Black vs. White/Oyster

The consensus of opinion is because the M Sport comes equipped with the Dynamic Driving Control functions.

Griot's Paint Sealant. Good product, and long lasting sealant base. I will often apply Turtle Wax Ice on top from time to time.

Do you apply the paint sealant on the rims also? are they easier to clean afterwards?

At the risk of turning this into a Washing and Waxing thread, Yes. BMW wheels are painted, therefore should be protected. Think about all the grime and brake dust that coats your wheels every day! And it does make them easier to clean and stay clean a bit longer.

Sorry...Yes, they are staggered. The 310's are 8.5" wide with 245/40's in the front and 10" wide with 275/35 rears.

The rims are a combo of polished and painted. I'm really not sure if they're forged or machine cut.

The X3 holds its own compared to the X5 in terms of height and stance. Great picture and garage!

Yeah, the X3 is about a foot shorter and a few inches lower. Also a tad narrower - but it does hold its own nicely against the X5. Much different look than when my E90 was parked next to it!

Of course, the downside is that the stepstool has to come out when I wash either of them now...;)
