PIEZON wroteToo soon to compare after only one day of light driving, but so far very impressed. It has a much tighter feel than the X5 in terms of steering and suspension. Literally like a tall 3 Series.Thank you LedZep! So how do you like it!? How does it compare to X5?
Theepz wroteNot in the U.S., it is a standard available leather color.Looks Beautiful!!! can't wait for mine... is there any extra charge for you interior seat in US? how much?..

Really nice! What's the width of the rear tyres with the M-sport pack? Same as the front?

OK here is the tuff question LedZep... if you had to decide on one, which one would you take X5 or x3?!

PIEZON wroteToo early to answer that. The X3 has the advantage of being the brand new baby... but the X5 is one hell of a sweet vehicle. What are the specs without all season tyres (can't believe they are actually putting that crap on a BMW)? Anyone taken M-sport delivery in Europe yet?

I have to admit that I was very nervous ordering the X3 M Sport in Carbon Black with the 310 style wheels without seeing them paired together first. I spent an hour at the dealer today staring at the vehicle at different angles, trying to decide if I liked the combo. One part of me thought it looked great and the other that it was too "boy racer" for lack of a better word.

carlili4190 wroteYes it is. Their business development manager, Mike Alder was great to work with. I followed him to Laurel from another BMW dealer. Is that laurel BMW?
I occupied a lot of his time with questions and one-off requests. He went above and beyond.

ChitownX wroteYep - "boy racer" was my exact opinion of them on the AW shown at the Paris Auto Show. But they look like they belong nicely with the Carbon Black. You'll have to let us know how rough the ride is with those lower profile tires though. Thanks LEDZEP!

inamik75 wroteReally?? Ever been in an X5? The quality of materials is much better; there is additional sealing to prevent outside noise; the optional comfort seats are amazing; etc., etc.In what way is it better than the X3 apart from space? Embellish us a bit
It's a different level of vehicle, just like the 5 Series compared to the 3 Series.

LEDZEP wroteGood to hear your opinion, driven a number so know better materials etc so the size just keeps me off. Was more specifically curious on the difference in agility, handling of the two since you have both.Really?? Ever been in an X5? ChitownX looks awesome! This is exactly what I want to get! Just not set on trim. Consider alum or wood. Looking forward to more pics! Best wishes with it! Enjoy! Thanks for sharing!

LEDZEP wroteI have to agree with LEDZEP on this one. I left a fully loaded 2005 X5 4.4i with sport package for the 2011 X3 35i M Sport. The interior materials are definitely a step down from the current E70 X5 and my old E53 X5. The options are also held back so as not to compete directly with the X5. The panorama roof for example – both panels tilt up and slide back in the X5. However; the X3 is also around $20K cheaper when similarly equipped. I chose to go with the X3 because the E70 X5 is too big for me. It’s now 7 inches longer and 4 inches wider than my old E53 X5.Really?? Ever been in an X5? The quality of materials is much better; there is additional sealing to prevent outside noise; the optional comfort seats are amazing; etc., etc.

BTW – I don’t understand why BMW doesn’t offer the same level of materials or options across model lines. Audi does a better job IMO offering the same level of materials and options across lines. Offering the same level in the X3 isn’t going to detract from the X5 or cause someone to step down from the X5 to the X3 because they can get everything in the X3 that’s offered in the X5.
