I cannot get this feature to work. Have the software update, have confirmed settings, have studied others' inputs where and how to position foot, but cannot get it to work. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Maybe you have a tow hitch installed? Some tow hitch designs disable the kick-to-open tailgate function.

Unlike prior BMW's, the G45's liftgate foot kick only works 50% of the time for me, so it's not just you, it's a bit frustrating.

To have the greatest odds of it working: 1) Kick straight-on like an NFL kicker from the 1950's and 2) execute the kick about 6" to the left of the license plate.
