As it still works with Android Auto and the latest iDrive update it seems to be iOS/carplay related.

What is the version number of the Carplay app in your car?

I’m having the same issue, I’m on an iPhone 17 pro max. Apple Maps works fine but the issue persists with Google Maps.

My wife is able to connect her phone (16 pro max) and Google Maps though, no issues for her.

Seems like the issue is with the Google Maps apps, I reached out on their community help but no resolutions yet!

I posted about this issue a few weeks ago. Same experience as you guys w/ Google Maps. It must be a combination of iOS, iDrive and the Google maps app. It shows up just fine for me in my other car w/ iDrive 8.5 but not in the X3 w/ iDrive 9. Waze does not work either tho (no directions shown in the HUD) but I dont know if was the case before as I have not used Waze in the past. Have you guys tried Waze to test?
Apple maps works tho - so I've switched to using that for now. Only thing I dont like w/ Apple maps is the HUD instructions are HUGE. I liked the Google display much more - smaller and not as obstructive.

I guess my OCD kicks in for Navigation. I look it up on Google/Apple maps then send it to the BMW through the MyBMW app and Outlook Calendar. The BMW navigation works well. It displays in the HUD.

Yea I do like the native navi but the 'real time' info on Google maps is just too good. Traffic is one thing but 'live' reporting from other drivers of road hazards and police which then alerts you is a great feature.

I agree but just so used to Google Maps for the traffic updates and camera notifications.
