Does anyone know any credible information (from a contact at BMW or dealership or what have you) about any other changes that are in store for the 2027 X3 beyond elimination of the iDrive controller? I am on the fence about ordering a 2026 now or waiting until late Fall for production of the 2027 t begin. If they will be making other changes it might be worthwhile. Thanks!

I am currently in the same situation, waiting for details on the 2027 model. Official changes haven't been released yet; however, looking at last year's timeline, the 2026 ordering and pricing guides were released on May 29th. I expect we'll have more clarity by the end of May. Furthermore, reports in this forum suggest that production for the 2026 model year will continue through November 2026, which is an extension from the typical August transition.

The G45 is a tremendous success and BMW's focus for 2027 in this size segment is the new iX3. Updates to the X3 will be very subtle. If it were me, I wouldn't wait another minute to get behind the wheel of this awesome car let alone 8 months. If you're ready to buy, buy now and thoroughly enjoy the Spring and Summer.
