I ordered them today and AMZ quoted Thu delivery. Will send pics when i get them on.
These are the Amazon version, $32. Fit is excellent to the existing holes.

Hi. I installed the rear mudflaps using the 3 existing screws. Just took 10 minutes. Perfect fit.

Now, I want to install the front mudflaps. I see there is 1 existing screw and 2 plastic rivets. QUESTION: Do I remove the plastic rivets and replace them with new ones to attach the front set? The included hardware only has screws.

You can install them without removing the wheels. Turn the front wheels to make access easier. On the front guards, I found that after removing the plastic rivets, the supplied screws' diameter was too small to provide a fit that was snug enough for me. They worked but just did not feel secure enough for me. And I made sure that I used the smallest bit that would drill out the rivet. I installed a slightly larger screw and am going to the hardware store today to shop for some black ones. I also provided to AMZ feedback to the seller about this concern.

You're in MD. Did you consider to take delivery at the Spartanburg Performance Center Delivery? I have done it twice, no charge, the track driving, braking, and the terrain course really helps you appreciate BMW and the X3. Quite the experience. It is a great day and they do a good job after the driving to educate on the vehicle and get it configured with you. https://bmwperformancecenter.com/delivery/

Drill out the rivets (3) on the front and use the supplied screws to replace the rivets. There are 2 screws at the bottom of the guard that you remove and reuse to install the guard.

Thanks. I removed the rivets, but the supplied screws are too small for the holes. I'll have to get bigger screws... perhaps from Home Depot.

Thought about it but I've done it 3 times and 2 European Deliveries. My X3 is being built now.
Bummer that BMW used rivets. I think I have a friend with a rivet tool but I will not replace them with new rivets. I'd rather use screws so probably going to install larger ones if necessary after removing the rivets.

The OE rivets are plastic.

In the places where BMW originally used metal screws, there are special mounting clips on the other side of the wheel-arch liner (those bent metal tabs U-clips) designed to receive those screws.

However, in the holes where BMW uses plastic rivets, those clips are not present. The holes are located directly in the body panel.

This leads to two drawbacks.
First, using metal screws with a larger diameter can damage the body sheet metal, which may later lead to metal oxidation (rust).
Second, you may lose the corrosion warranty for that body component.

Even if you want to use larger screws instead of the plastic rivets, use plastic screws rather than metal ones. Ideally, however, you should just use plastic rivets.

Thanks, mate. I took your advice and quickly sourced some nylon rivets. BTW, perfect snug fit.

Are the OEM screws plastic or metal? Not sure I have ever seen plastic screws at Lowes but then again I've never looked for them. I have some body panel thingees that work like rivets but easily removed with a screwdriver. I wonder if they would work?

You'll have to remove the OEM nylon rivets. The original holes are approximately 5mm (3/16"). The supplied screws were too small.

I found the proper size black screws at a local hardware store (HD and Lowe's didn't have them in black).

However, I took Amaza's advice and decided to find some new nylon rivets. HD, Lowe's, and the local hardware store only had them in 1/4", which is too big.

I dropped by the shop that changes the oil for my Porsche. Luckily, he had a rather extensive nylon rivet kit, and was more than happy to help me out. I found what I needed to install the front mudflaps.

What size rivet fits best?

Looks like Ali has the same ones as Amazon at half the price. Guess I need to shop there more.
I noticed the front mudflaps I got from Aliexpress are different from the Amazon ones.

The front mudflaps I received are shorter and only have 2 nylon rivet fastening points, not 3 like the mudflaps from Amazon.

It really doesn't make any difference how snugly they fit; it's just a bit of a difference in appearance. I actually prefer the look of the shorter mudflaps.

***BTW, the price of the mudflaps from the Ali vendor I used has dropped:
