Everything you hate about the G45 will be even worse with the iX3. Time to move on.
I’ll reserve judgment until I’ve seen it in the flesh and driven it.

Brand new platform, and the interior looks interesting.

I suspect this platform is where BMW inveated its money for the future, rather than just using an old existing platform.

My m50 reported 34pmg on a recent highway run. And yes, the seats are somewhat firm and get uncomfortable after a couple of hours. Honestly I'm never able to fully settle into them.

Great MPG, but are you not happy with the seats?

I have a question for those who post how great of an MPG they are getting:

Question 1: There are reports (posted on other threads) about the speed accuracy on the BMW vehicles in general. Some say BMW vehicles display a speed up to 2 or 3 MPH HIGHER that the actual vehicle speed. I was able to verify that with a Speed Monitor on the side of the HWY here. I had the Cruise set at 63 MPH and the monitor on the side of the HWY read 60. Having said that, one has to conclude that the MEASURED DISTANCE is also HIGHER that the actual distance traveled. So, the MPG will be OFF too. We are looking at an ERROR of up to almost 5% (4.75 to be exact). If all this is true, does this mean that the TOTAL miles on the odometer is up to 4.75% HIGHER that the ACTUAL mileage travelled? If the answer is yes, then the MPG we see on the TRIP DATA must also be OFF by the same percentage (up to 4.75%).

I was reading an Average MPG of 32.2 displayed in the cluster, if I compute the ERROR of 4.75% that translates to an actual MPG of 30.73 MPG.

Question 2: Is this an accurate way to confirm the trip data displayed on the cluster ?

Got this data with the 20" wheels and Pirelli P-Zero Allseason Tires.

  1. Not at all. The measured distance is accurate.
As an aside, those speed monitors are not very accurate in many situations. The actual difference is about 2mph but it varies by speed.

Just completed a 350 mile trip, 50% on Interstate at 70 mph and 50% on 2 lane highways at 55-60 mph. Some stop and go. Used Efficiency mode most of the time. Overall average was 34.5 mpg. Not bad for a vehicle with close to 400 HP.
