I'm currently trying to find myself a good F26 M40i but there are many people who are advising me not to go with the F26 model because of N55 engine which is not as good as the G02 B58 engine. I have a solution to buy F26 with 2.0d diesel engine but that engine (B47) seems rather weak for such a car, and it kills all the fun but it is pretty reliable and trouble free. Is there really that much differnce in terms of reliability between N55 (last version) and B58 engine?

Does anyone tell you what is wrong with the N55 engine?
