Only thing surprising to me is that Merino leather is now available in the US and rear climate control is optional. No more plastic feeling leather, but people in the back will be suffering in the summer.

Thank God they actually allowed for either red or blue brake calipers. So tired of seeing the M Perf package force red calipers on most builds.

Outside of merino and idrive9 there is little new over the old car apart from some grills that light up. No acoustic glass which is now present outside of the luxury brands, you can spec it on a Honda Pilot for example. This was a low effort release from BMW, kind of disappointed as really considering getting one in a few years when my m340 lease ends.

Great to see 20" rims with an all season option. Merino is nice too. Interesting that hands-free cruise control is up to 60 mph, a bit less than highway assistant on 5/7 series models that goes up to 85 mph.

Fewer interior color choices, no red or orange interior. Not an ideal scenario but understandable - BMW is still in the middle of cost cutting program.

Anyone knows what this combo looks like? VCKJ Amber/Atlas Grey Extended Merino Leather
I hope they add more interior colors options but from recent history, my guess would say this is it.

Good for BMW to continue phasing out its Vernasty leather option. Merino for the same price! NICE!

MattTheCarNut wroteYea but issue is on ventilated seats they put vernasca wherever you see perforations. At least this was the case on x5. I’d be shocked if they were not continuing to do this for the x3… can ever fully get rid of that crap!Good for BMW to continue phasing out its Vernasty leather option. Merino for the same price! NICE!

Equilibrandt wroteI'm one of the few that prefer blue calipers. It's more classic M to me. Red just seems like all the try hard cheap mods.Thank God they actually allowed for either red or blue brake calipers. So tired of seeing the M Perf package force red calipers on most builds.

Pricing seems a bit high to me. Not surprising. But should an x3 m50 be about the same cost as a 540? Granted they both have similar crap interiors but there used to be premium to a 5 series level car compared to a 3 series level. Does being an suv close this gap - I’m not sure. But paying 75k for an x3 m50 when you can have a 5 series - seems off to me.

Always on high beam anti dazzle matrix LED masking continues to be disabled (option 5AP), but unlike the G01 there is no ability of recoding on this version of iDrive.

merino over vernasca is a major upgrade... but in all honesty the veganza isnt so bad... at least not remotely as ratchet as sensatec was... which was effectively rubber

Are the prices cheaper? I mean, it is uglier, with fewer standard features.

Mattl0806 wroteOne is an M Performance vehicle and the other is not. You pay extra for that tuned up engine and all the little extra M features you have to order on a 540 that comes standard in the X3 M50. They both may have the B58, but the X3 M40/50 have a tuned up spec. And SUVs are higher in cost by a bit too, compare the current M340 to the X3 M40, they are not priced the same.Pricing seems a bit high to me. Not surprising. Scorp10 wroteI agree with all that you said, except I was comparing pricing to an m sport 540 is what I was comparing it too. So maybe you get a slightly better tuned b58 but 0-60 times are very close. The differences btw the “m tuned” is not that much ?One is an M Performance vehicle and the other is not.
