2022 X4MC here. Looking to replace my stock RF Contis with some all season since i live in an area where temps are below 45 for good 5-6 months.

I realize Michelins are the best at what they do but Falkens are for $1200 (without installation) where as Michelins are $1900 (without installation).

I am not a track rat and car most about daily driving. I do drive spirited all the time though so tread wear might be more important to me if i have to compromise a little bit in performance.

Does anyone have experience with Falkens? Some research suggests that Falkens are more comfortable and quiet, but less fun and sharp. Is the performance dip huge between them? Is there any safety risk with mid range tires in term of going sideways during spirited driving?

Appreciate any thoughts here!

They're getting some pretty good reviews. I'd personally give them a try if I was in your position.

The Azenis seem to be pretty falken good tires;), but they are a category below the "excellent" recommended rating for the Michelins on Tire Rack. Even light snow (the only kind any UHPAS should try to handle) seems it might be a particular weakness for the Azenis while treadware may be a strength.

I've used Falken's for years on other BMW's and loved them. I never had any performance or handling issues at all.

Yeah i saw Falkens had poor rating for snow but some other reviews on YouTube specifically noted that were okay on snow (not great but fine on light snow). But treadwear is specifically what i was curious about since i saw some reviews saying the Michelins went bald at 10,000 miles.

Since you have used them in the past- how long did they last you on average? And were you pushing your car every chance you got?

I have tried the Michelin PSAS4 on two vehicles and while they are good as advertised, they fell short of my expectations. This is probably due to my past experience on the tires it was set to replace - the Michelin AS3+.

That said, I'd give the Azenis FK460 AS a try. I had experience with their summer tires - the FK510 - and I'd been pretty happy with them.

The AS4 was only good for me out to about 15,000mi when I tried them on my X3M. They got super noisy around 12-13k.
