Hi gurus, the rear hatch battery area in my 2016 BMW x4 was affected by water as water from an esky leaked in the boot. The water was drained and ever since the automatic rear hatch hasn’t worked. I recently replaced the automatic hatch control module with another second hand module and the hatch now works automatically however when the boot is closed after about 10 seconds an audible alarm sounds. When I removed fuse number 141 (5amp) the audible noise stops however the rear hatch fails to automatically work. There is no error message on the dash. Any assistance would be appreciated.

This fuse 141 is for Automatic luggage compartment lid actuation.
Are there any fault code? You can try initialising the tail gate.

Thank you for your comment. There is no dash warning light only the audible alarm. Do you know where I could find the initialisation steps for the tail gate.
