have any of you done carbon cleaning on your n20 engine's?
My x3 is at 95,000 miles (153K KM) and I am thinking of getting walnut blasting done and cleaning the intake valves of carbon...
has anyone done it yet?
or should I wait a little longer?
if you did get this done, how much did it cost you?
I know BMW's aren't that bad as Audi/VW

But even if I was thinking of doing it, it is not too hard a job to pull the intake manifold back a couple inches to see the valves. They will always be black, but unless they are really gunky, leave them alone.have any of you done carbon cleaning on your n20 engine's?

I only experience rough idle during cold start, but it goes away when the RPM needle settles.
It feels like the engine is misfiring but it is not, I check the car's misfire count and it's always 0.
I feel an engine vibration when the car's RPM settles, but it goes away within 10 seconds after the RPM settles. It's been like this ever since I got this 2017 x3 in January 2019 at 50,000KM (31,000 miles).
I will keep an eye on things, if I don't see any misfires/rough idle during cold start, I will not do CC... I will wait it out.
Thank you for your feedback

Completely useless. Don't waste your money unless you have a pcv valve issue.. which you don't.

Nope, no issues at all, no CEL, no codes, nothing. My 2017 x3 (N20) drives smooth. No issues at all (thanking the car gods).
It's just that I was told to get carbon cleaning done on ALL direct-injection engine vehicles.
I will hold off until I see issues.
I'm going to get the brakes serviced and brake fluid flush and refilled instead.
