For the adhesive. Is there some specifics on how much to put??

Also does this look correct?? Seems off.

I did not use any adhesive, I was afraid it I would create a mess if I needed to replace it again

The adhesive is their TSB remedy to try and prevent the shrinkage from happening again.

Just looked at mine that we just purchased CPO in September. Guess they missed this.. and the original warranty has just ended by 50km (80050km).

Looking through the thread I’ve seen multiple part numbers thrown. Can anyone help confirm if this is the correct one? Item 4 on diagram

Seal, Glass Roof, Front

Part number: 54105B32973

That is how mine looked before being replaced under warranty a couple months ago. MY2022. While there wasn't any observable water leaks, there was a LOT of wind noise. Essentially a howling like sound at speed. Put some electrical tape over it to confirm that was the source of noise I was hearing. The car still isn't what I would call quiet, but much better.

The P/N listed on the invoice: 54 10 5 B32 973

They may have also followed the TSB and applied that 3M adhvesive. :(

Yeah I figured it would be good for a warranty fix. Issue is it’s also MY2022 and it’s the 4 years or 80k km, whichever came first. Friday we hit 80050km 😩. Trying to get a hold of dealership that we bought it from (different city) while waiting to hear back from the ones locally.

Yeah see if you can drum up some good will from one of them. If not, maybe ask for a discount on the work. This is a common problem.

Yeah exactly. Trying to get a hold of the dealerships here locally. Was just there too for the fading side vent and the rear spoiler support but forgot about checking the seals. Only remembered after and yeah.. eclipsed the 80k km.

I also reached out to the original dealership we got it from and they mentioned they’ll talk to the pre owned manager and see what happens. They’ve been good to us after we took delivery since there were some issues and they were quickly resolved, so here’s hoping

I had success last time my car was in for maintenance asking my SA to write in the work order to please have them check the seals and whether they need replacing, and when I got the car back they had noted that all seals had observed shrinking and were replaced under warranty.

If you were born in the Soviet Union, you probably don’t need a manual for replacing a seal. But it’s nice to see that I’m not the only one who’s had issues with a seal. Thank you for the post! I’ll be replacing the seal on my car soon.

Just had the dealer replace the trailing edge seal under 4/50 warranty. There were gaps on both ends of the seal. With the old seal, there was an unacceptable amount of wind noise from the roof. Now the car is significantly quieter--enough so that I found myself doing 80 without realizing it on the way home from the dealer yesterday. Previously it was unpleasant to drive over 70-75mph due to the wind noise.
