For anyone in UK interested in the OEM rack (82712414373), Cotswold BMW currently selling brand new via Ebay at £126.35. The best I've seen them sold at by quite a margin. Just bought one. :)

Most likely not, since the Thule aftermarket roof rack does not fit. According to Thule the actual grip is the same, and the front rack is the same, but the rear rack is wider on G01 than on F25. All according to Thule website.

Mine do, they don’t fit at the exact location (the dot you feel inside the rails) but they do fit close enough to be useable. I’ve taken them on and off a few times and they seem to fit better and better each time. That said I wouldn’t over load them but it seems to work.

So stoked to partner with Ivar at Skiguard USA on this and could not be happier with the final product. The 830 Touring is hands down the most low profile box on the market and pairs with the lines of the G01 so well.

For anyone interested, Ivar lives about a mile from me and I would love to make the introduction.

Now for the photos...

I put the BMW oem roof bars on the other day, have been happy with them so far. Haven’t used them to carry anything yet, but no noticeable noise, and am able to open the roof all the way with no issues. Was an easy install, did it by myself in less than 30 minutes. BMW could have made the markings a little more obvious, but other than that, no issues.

I did figure out that after you drive around, they loosen. Put another way, they seat after you drive with them installed.

You need to re-tighten them by turning the knobs after the first trip.

I have not noticed that I need to do it a second time.

The first time I used them I drove from Denver to Vegas and got about 1 full turn on each knob when I checked them.

They are plenty secure and won't fall off.

That looks cool. It's a bit maddening though that there isn't a single photo on their website of the inside of the box, or a box open. Seems like a huge oversight.

I can get a couple for you. They have a pretty cool organizer in there that keeps the skis from rolling around.

They have a few, but ya, I'd like to see some good pics of the inside for sure. e.g. this page -
https://www.skiguard.com/about-skiguard/news/accessories/

I wonder how it would look color matched to Sunstone Metalic.

Hi
I’ve got the Thule winbars and have had the 753 foot pack and designated fixing pack on my 2015 X3 with the satin roof bars for 4 years without any issues. I’ve recently bought a new 2019 X3 msport with the gloss black roof rails, I’ve notice that the clamping mechanism on the roof bar was marking the rail, lots of polish and effort to remove this after each fitting. So I looked to check the kit was compatible with the new car, Thule have a new system, evo with new foot pack and kit, so purchased this and fitted, this has also marked the rail, leaves small abrasions marks at the corners where the front fixing plate clamps the rail.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it due to the roof bars being gloss black and they aren’t as robust?

Cheers

Andy

Dj, how long are your crossbars? Do you prefer the look of the extended bars, or do they serve any purpose being longer?

Just wanted to share what I have on my M40i.

Since I didn't like the chrome OEM/Thule look. Decided to go with a Yakima setup and a Rocky Mounts bike rack to utilize the internal track on the Yakima rails. Pretty quiet at highway speeds too.

As for mounting the bike up top, I'm 5'8" and have no issues grabbing the fork and down tube. :)

I have fitted the Thule Evo foot pack and wingbars in black. Quiet and I like the black.

To answer earlier post, I prefer the bars to extend past the feet to allow for tie downs for large items on the outside of the foot for stability and ease of tightening and tying off. Also happen to prefer the look.

I've got the Thule wingbar Evo and corresponding foot pack, no issues at all with scratching and I just removed them recently.
