This cannot be true, X3 has the least rear legroom sspace to its main competitors, smaller than the Lexus NX and Evoque? I thought they increased the wheel base for this reason? What am I missing?

X4guy wroteI don't know about the NX and Evoque, but here's a good overview from Car and Driver. It was second in its class only to the Cadillac (though the cars you mention are not compared here because they look to be a class down). This cannot be true, X3 has the least rear space to its main competitors, smaller than the Lexus NX and Evoque? Compare that to C&D review of the NX, the M40i gets 8/20 pieces of luggage to the NX's 8/18. Plus you don't have to drive a fugly NX

Oh, I see the graphic now. For some reason I thought you meant rear cargo space.

The issue is there's not a standardized way of measuring interior dimensions. There are countless other threads on various forums where people question how their own vehicle can have a specified measurement when they beg to differ.
The worst stretches are in cargo volume, but measurements across the board are often stretched.

Going forward, it'd be good if you posted the source.

X4guy wroteWhile his covered more detail than others, he borked some of the options/features. One that comes to mind is where he said something like, "these are LED highbeams", on an x30i without the Executive Package. His were halogens, not LEDs. He was also oddly concerned about cleaning dust off the instrument cluster, like it would be difficult. It's not -- a light vacuuming followed by something like a swiffer should obliterate all dust (heck, for most people, a swiffer alone would be enough).I find his reviews credible, in-depth than other reviewers.
It would have been nice if he'd gone into more detail about the differences between the packages/options, but I'm not sure any of the other reviewers did either.

darrylo wroteI have the middle-tier headlights like the ones in that review and the high beams are LED. I believe only X3s optioned with no tier (and thus the base headlights) have halogen high beams. Totally true, compared to the F25 X3, the rear height and leg room is pathetic.
Even the X1 has better leg room, just typical BMW cost cutting deisgners

I've found the legroom better than expected, I had a couple of days overlap with my old E70 and was surprised to find X3 gave approx 2 inches more room in 2nd row
Before ordering X3 I looked at XC60 and RR Velar
XC60 was great for 2 rear passengers but seats are shaped and very cramped for a 3rd in the middle, in Velar you seemed to sit lower in back and again there was a lump in the seat base in middle position for 3rd person to sit on
X3, much like the X5 is a flatish bench so can easily fit 3 across which none of these sort of figures take into account

no rear leg measurements on the older models, but rear height appears to be exactly the same.
I couldn't find numbers for x1 legroom, but it does have slightly more headroom than the x3.
