Hello all! I'm considering a pre-owned X4 35i M-Sport (vs. other cars, ie. X3 and Audi Q5) but I'm wondering how the cargo space is in the trunk, and room in the back seat, mainly for a baby we're planning for next year. With a car seat in the back and stroller in the trunk and various "bags", would an X4 fit the bill?
We're both not very tall (5' 5") and want something nice and really fun to drive, but also practical. I test drove an X4 at the local dealer and fell in love followed by an X3 which I didn't like as much because of the floaty suspension.
Looking for thoughts and comments from anyone - any help would be appreciated!

Child seat no problem.
If you need more storage - remove both parts of hatshelf, and pack up to the roof - you can´t see anything in rearview mirror anyway.
To improve "fun to drive", you can install H&R and M Performance exhaust. Pics on request.

How well does the trunk accommodate a stroller and suitcase?

Fzara2000 wroteThere is a recall out for some X4's relating to the baby seat anchors. It is not relevant for me so I haven't bothered getting it fixed, but you should investigate whether yours has been fixed or wasn't covered by the recall. Any BMW dealer can look that up for you.Hello all! I'm considering a pre-owned X4 35i M-Sport (vs. other cars, ie. - Definitely check on the recall @DBU mentions. They have to weld a part, so it goes to the body shop. It took 3 days in a loaner for me.
- We found that the back seats have too much "bucket" to them so our Britax B-Safe 35 car seat base did not sit level. We ended up putting some rolled up towels under the car seat to get it level. Not a big deal, but one more thing to deal with if you plan to regularly take the seat base out of the car (we don't).
- The front seat needs to be moved up a bit so there is clearance for our car seat. Someone over 6 feet tall probably wouldn't be comfortable with the car seat behind them, but you should be fine.
- We have a BOB stroller which fits in the trunk fine, but takes up almost half of the cargo space. You can fit a few other luggage items in there with it, but there is no doubt the X3 would be better in this situation.
So I'd say it is a personal choice if suspension or style is more important than that cargo space. We chose the X4M40i over the X3 at the time, but I'd very much consider the new X3M40i, not to mention upcoming X3M. In your case looking at pre-owned, you can certainly do suspension upgrades if everything else weighed toward the X3.

We have three child seats in the rear of our X4.
Two forward facing and one rear facing. A bit tight, but it works well.
