I didn't see pricing mentioned. Are we still guessing?
I'm thinking $59-62k. Ish.

A certain Scott somebody once told me that I would really like the X4 M40 if I liked the Lightweight Tuning version ... I am not so sure.
No doubt about the substance but feel let down the styling cues inside and out.

I was always blown away by how good looking the X4 is in flesh, and how the pictures/movies never did it any justice, in fact I think it’s even better looking than the X6 specially the rear side, of course once in the car the X6 is way up and by fare a better place to be.

punky8d wroteThe X7 is also confirmed and probably coming before the x2.It looks nice but really don't like the idea that there's so many.
X1, X3, X4, X5, X6.. And I guess soon the X2..:

If the X7 actually comes with a V12 then I salute BMW even they are doing sh*t with all these numbers/cars.

jet_00 wroteYou do not seriously think they would put a v12 into a mass produced SUV in 2016/2017, do you?If the X7 actually comes with a V12 then I salute BMW even they are doing sh*t with all these numbers/cars.
Except the ridiculously priced Merc G 65 AMG, which is a 30 year old platform, there is no other manufacturer in their rightfull mind that would do that. (even not the Merc GL)
It will be a twin turbo V8 for sure with lost of hp. Its just too much R&D cost/engeneering compromises to allow for a v12 option from the beginning of the development process to sell severall hundred of those monsters in the end.
And small volume Bentley/Aston/Lambo SUVs with 3xx-4xx k prices do not count.

I do not understand why BMW does not use motor M4 for X4? I really expected 431hp and 0-60 mph in 4.3 sec. X4M:(

Midwest M235i wroteProbably because it's a 10 year old design out of the E90. That's very disappointing.was thinking the same....
Probably because it hasn't changed at all over the current, dated design...

I'm really confused by the engine. I thought everything was going to the B58 inline 6, why did they come out with a new variant of the N55 for the X4? And why didn't this N55 variant make it into the 340i? Maybe I'm crazy, but I would have thought that all X40i models (x as number holder, not the x line) would share the same engine moving forward.
So if they make an M340i will it be a souped up B58, or this new N55?
Brain fried.

mmm...
a M340i that would have been interesting. Perfect match for the C450 AMG.

Its unreal how much hate there is for this car (and X6), especially on non BMW forums, its 90% negative on sites like C&D and LLN. Can't figure out if its people who just can't afford it and rip on it or people who don't get the purpose of it so they bash it.
have probably seen this comment 100 times "might as well buy an Aztec", seriously?
I am glad my wife and I bought our X6 (M Sport) because we love it, and this X4 M40i looks just like a mini version (if it was out 2 months ago we might have picked it over the X6), especially now that it FINALLY has split exhausts. When I first bought it I thought we would get lots of comments about people not liking it but all we get is positive comments from co-workers, friends, and strangers, this includes people who are brutally honest with us on things, not a single negative comment about it.
Anyone who bashes this, first go see it in person (with M Sport package and a good color, as that makes a difference) and then drive one of them, the X4 and X6 drive a lot different than the X3/X5 and that is the purpose of them, people who want the AWD and stance of a SUV but don't need the cargo space and would rather have a more stylish and better handling car. Having driven the F15 and F16 for a good amount of time, I would choose the F16 every time, unless I absolutely needed that extra height in cargo space.
Any knock on this car needs to be on the dated interior, which hopefully is fixed in 3 years.
