Got a 2012 X3 loaner - when are the N50's available?

So I got a 2012 X3 loaner, it has the 2.8i badge on it and the NA 3.0 engine.

I thought the 2012's had the new turbo 4 cylinder engine? Or is that later 2012's? Anyone can fill me in?

This engine has a lot of kick - my 335 is getting service and I am enjoying this X3. Obviously slower, but it's peppier than I thought it'd be.

the N20 starts at 2013 MY

I think the 8speed transmission does an excellent job transmitting the power of the N52.. except the initial tip in software fault (TSB)

2013 is the first year the N20 4 cylinder turbo became available.

Production of MY 2013 X3s with N20 engines began in April of 2012.

Ah - that's what I figured. This 2.8i engine is actually really nice - smooth, and fairly powerful for the size of the X3. I wonder how much faster the N20 will be.

After driving the N20 in a 528xi loaner and now in my X3, I can say the turbo 4 is a much better match with the X3.

The 5'er is too big and heavy for the 4 banger imo
