Alarm retrofit coding issues at dealer

Edit: Dealer resolved the issue, everything works great now

Has anyone had issues getting the alarm modules to register after DIY the alarm retrofit?

I bought Part #65120403658 (BMW E90/91/92/93 OEM Alarm System (for vehicles up to 3/09)) from Mike @ Maranello.

It installed successfully, but the modules won't get accepted by the server at BMW (Autohaus), and now it's staying overnight with a tech support ticket open to try and resolve this issue.

Any ideas? Anyone install/program this thing recently?

I have coded alarms and never had that issue.

When I installed the alarm myself, the dealer had no issue programming the car.

I had mine installed (purchased from Mike @ Maranello as part of the group buy) and coded at Bimmersport. It did have an issue though with coding. Apparently they needed custom coding for the alarm. My car was down for 2 days.

I'm pretty surprised to hear this considering the parts are OEM and bought from an actual dealer. It would be interesting for OP to post up what the end result was to resolve the issue and what the error encountered was (perhaps dulak can shed some light on that as well?).

Dulak: sorry to hear things didn't go quite so smoothly. Seems that was the general theme of that GB.

Well, my update is that the dealer resolved the issue, although I don't know how.
The alarm now works perfectly, though they had to replace the interior sensor cover as well, as my original one was not slotted.

This happened to me February. I bought the retro alarm kit from ECStuning. ALL part #'s match to the car/VIN. Install was perfect but when the dealer tried coding/troubleshooting TWICE for 24 hours. The alarm brain and car did not work together. BMW dealer reprogrammed/upgraded the car CPU twice, no resolve now I have daylight running lights which I didn't have before.

ECStuning confirmed part works after resent and tested. So I must assume my car has faulty wiring since factory line or basically is not compatible with future alarms even though it is pre-wired for it.

I got my refund from ECS minus restock fee. But paid $371 to the dealer for daylight running lights, . ECS customer service is spot on though.

Since you are in USA and car is registered in USA, you can shut the drl throught your cluster menu using your BC button and going into settings.

Through which menu? I have no iDrive. I haven't seen on cluster menu to shut on/off DRL.

I had this happen on e82 coupe

all right parts but system was asking for a different part.
Got different part all worked... extra $200 poorer...

Apparently this can be resolved with PUMA case or w.e custom over ridethat the main office tech can do.

Makes enough sense, considering the tech opened a ticket to get it all eventually straightened out.
