Question Anyone know what this is?

I was unhooking the battery in my 335xi recently and noticed this plug just hanging out not plugged into anything. Someone guessed a CD changer cable, but I'm really not sure.

Any input is appreciated, thanks guys!

I think that is the cable where the solar panel used during transport is plugged in.

I have this exact same question as well. Just got my car back, and looking at the battery and noticed this exact same wire hanging out. I thought it was something missing. I need to know where this connection goes.

My manual says "lunar panel".

No contribution for op, but the bigger question is WHY IS YOUR BATTERY A BMW BOX?

He's not. Remember reading about this in the "install m-tech wheel" thread...where you need to take off your neg connection. It's something used for transport and doesn't need to plug into anything

That's what came in the car... not following what you mean?

Interesting about this plug being used for transport only.. just looks a little lonely not plugged in

thumbsdown for this really? For a wire that is 99% of the time hidden under the cover? Not really a big deal and completely functional. I mean I think we're all pretty picky about our cars but this is a new one for me

True story folks, I'm not screwing around. The solar panel keeps the battery fresh while in transport.
