New deals before delivery?
So I searched around for posts about renegotiation and haven't found anything helpful yet. Here's my situation:
I ordered my car in early January. It is scheduled for delivery next week. In early January, the financing deal available was 2.9% on new E90 328i's. Over the past month and a half, I've gotten a bunch of e-mails from the dealership about their deals and such. Now, just 2 days ago, I get a deal from them saying that 0.9% financing is back for E90 328i's. In addition to that, the dealership will pay your first 2 month's payments. I also got an e-mail from them about a 'stimulus initiative' where they say if you buy a new 3 series, you can negotiate your best price, and they'll take $1500 off that price. Now, I know that renegotiating after the fact is in poor taste. I wouldn't want them to try to do it to me, so I shouldn't do it to them. That being said, I haven't signed any paperwork about financing -- I feel like if BMW is offering .9% financing again, then that's what I should receive. I shouldn't be held to the 2.9% that was in place a month and a half ago. So because I haven't signed any paperwork about financing, can I tell them that I expect the new financing deal to apply to me? And further, should I push to have the new deals applied to my sale? I'm not talking about renegotiating the price -- that's definitely set. But I feel like I should definitely get the .9% financing, and I'd really like to get the 'stimulus initiative' deal too. What do you guys think? |

You will for sure get the 0.9% if thats what is being offered when you sign the papers.

Until you sign, you can always take advantage of new financing deals that BMW FS offers. The dealership will not lose out by this so you should not worry about the stigma of renegotiating.

When the .9% financing was first announced (late last year), there were numerous posts about BMW renegotiating to allow buyers to take advantage of that offer. There's no reason you shouldn't be getting the .9%. You should also be able to take advantage of whatever incentives are in place when you take delivery of your vehicle (rebates, etc.). Don't feel bad, it's a business and you're not doing anything that's unfair.
Good luck and congrats on the purchase! |
