At start-up, I'm getting the warning to check the tire pressure. I added one pound to two tires. Now, all four at 38 psi - which, after reviewing 17 options in the paper owners manual book, I think the 21" tires are where they should be. I went through the reset process and still have the warning.

Any idea if this user error, or another trip to the dealership?

you need to drive for a while so the tpms can reset.

Do you have a leak? I set mine to the recommendations on the door sill. There's a thread with whole heck of debate on tire pressure however I don't know that 38 on the back would trigger the warning.

nyalpine90 yeah, did that - drove for 15 min. or so while it s l o w l y reset. But the warning remained.

I don't think there's a leak. I checked the pressure twice in the past two weeks. Both times it was 38, 38, 37, 37. The first time, I left it - usually a pound or two doesn't piss off the TPMS system.

During that 15 min. reset drive...
- My iPhone would not pair - this happens about 60% of the time.
- The side mirrors remained in the other profile - I had to press "2" to get them to move. And yeah, I had my key and was miles from home where her the other key fob was. Plus, I'd shut the car off a few times attempting to get the TMPS to re-re-reset.
- and of course, the TPMS warning remained.

So, really not loving this car right now.

I had same problem. Added air to bring up to spec, still got message. Went to reset tpm. Did not have tire size. Used closest size. Afte a couple of days, message went away. Didn’t have other problems. My phone would not pair before the tpm problem

Is the iDrive showing the proper air pressure? Maybe one of the sensors' batteries died or it lost communication with the TPMS system?

do you have correct tires selected?
i believe all season tires fall under winter tire...
make sure the tire selection is correct, maybe add more air as shown on the idrive screen.
take a picture of the warning

Make sure Correct tires and air pressures selected in iDrive…. After that, use your own pressure gauge (not the car)…. Add air while car hasn’t been driven for awhile nor sitting in sun… measure pressure and get amount. Go back later if not driven on and not in sun… check again…. Leave overnight and go out early morning and check again. If no reduction from measured # with own gauge, drive as you would for a few days and keep checking (with your own gauge) and monitor temps when “cold”. Stays same… no tire issue (just a TPMS issue)… Goes down, you have a puncture somewhere (even if you can’t see it… I’ve had several that I couldn’t see/find, but I went to have fixed, it was there).

It happens. Punctures we can’t see and TPMS sensor issues… use process of elimination to figure out what is the culprit.

EDIT: and yes, sometimes it takes (days) for the stupid system to reset and calibrate correctly… no idea why.

I'm currently having a similar issue. Had a screw in a rear tire, pressure dropped to 29. Fixed the leak and set tire pressure at 37 rears 35 fronts (idrive confrims same). Still having the warning error message days later?

you may have faulty tpms

As someone mentioned, change the tire setting from summer to all season and that did cleared the error message. I changed the tires from summer to all season soon after buying the car and never updated idrive. It's been 8 months

You didn't write if you RESET/REINITIALIZED the system after you put more air in the tires.

You HAVE to reset if you add/remove air...or swap/change a wheel/tire. If you don't, the system is still using the previous baseline that was set...which is why you can still get warnings after adding air and NOT resetting the system.

See info below from the owners manual which gives FOUR reasons why you may still be getting a warning...take note of the last one:

I’ve also had the start up tyre pressure warning for the last few days, says check at your leisure. One rear was 3psi low. Running 33psi rear and 32psi front. Reset was easy and no warning now.

You guys are running some high pressures, are they five passenger pressures?
