Help me pick a colour (UK)
Hi all
New to the fourm and about to sign up for a iX3 (M-Sport) but keep changing my mind about the colour. First I wanted the blue but then seen a video of a white one which looked amazing, then discovered this forum and now the black and grey looks great too in some of the pics What colour do you have? Would you go different if you could pick again? Can you post one pic of it please, in real world conditions if that makes sense and not in a detailing bay with the fancy lighting. |

Sophisto Grey was my choice. I’d probably go white or Sophisto if choosing again

Just look in the Random Photos thread. 😊
I honestly think my Phytonic is a pretty dull color, most of the time. Especially in grey Scandinavian weather. That said, I knew the color well when going in and wouldn't choose differently. The color options are a real weak point of the iX3, if you're not one of the 90% who prefer a black, grey or white car. 😄 |

Hello,
Interestingly my original order was blue, but when that couldn’t be fulfilled, I chose white instead. I’m really happy with white, obviously our eyes all see colour slightly differently but as I’m someone that’s quite particular about the condition and cleanliness of my car, natural wear and tear such as small stone chips get ‘lost’ because the base coat is light too, whereas on other shades they’ll stand out more. Many thanks, |

I've got Blue+Cognac(love it). White seems too plain, but that's purely subjective. I also like the grey, in fact there is a great "goldish" grey colour out there.

I chose white and love it, I’ve always found white is actually easier to keep looking clean than black, black looks great until dust starts to settle, and shows up every little spec, just make sure you don’t get the silly blue bits lol

The lack of colour choices was certainly the poorest part of the whole iX3 experience. I love red cars but only has the option of:
Black (hate on a car) Blue (didn’t want another blue car) White (Mrs didn’t want me to have another white car) Grey (only colour left. Good colour though)

I think the carbon black looks the best overall but unless you are really into your washing/detailing it's a pain.
The white, which is what I went for, is a pearlescent so it really pops in the right light as opposed to the flat alpine white you get on a lot of other BMW's. It also contrasts really nicely against the black details and wheels, and as others have said, it hides all those nasty micro-scratches. The blue is nice depending on the light. I would have prefered a tanzanite blue to phytonic as its got a bit of a purplish hue to it which I'm not a fan of. It also looks really dull in low light conditions and can be a bit of a swirl city in the sunlight unless it's washed with care. Don't think I've seen a grey one... |

Good choice the White.
I’ve got the carbon black with oyster combo same as Sahajesh and it’s a combo that I like but as others have said it’s a bit of a pain to keep clean. I do like they way the colour changes from almost black to blue in bright sunlight but it’s a personal thing. If I was brave enough I would have gone white as think it looks great on the images above, shame you can’t get that with red leather option though. Sorry off topic, but sahajesh what colour is the X5 in shot, Tanzanite? |

Mine is Carbon Black too. It's a fantastic colour but requires a lot of TLC to keep it looking nice. It shows every single mark and needs a careful wash routine. I had mine paint corrected and ceramic coated, which has made the maintenance a lot easier.
I will probably go for a lighter colour next time. My last few cars have been grey & silver, which probably didn't look as good as CB when clean, but were significantly easier to look after! |

Zero intention to do anything with the paintwork, except the usual washing.
3 year salary sacrifice lease, I’ll make sure it’s not mis-treated but not spending money on correction or ceramic etc. |

Hi,
Do you get Cashmere silver in the UK? Below are pictures of a Cashmere silver iX3 that we nearly bought in Abu Dhabi (before changing our mind and going for a white iX 40 MSport instead - also pictured below) Cheers Steve

Carbon Black is the most sophisticated colour they have for the iX3. What I mean by that is that it has different tones and depth to it, it's unique. It feels like a flagship paint BMW developed for their cars. It's black but inky blue at the same time. The other paints are more standard - all nice but they don't have the different effects going on.
I looked at all the UK colours in person. Phytonic was the most disappointing - it wasn't the blue of my previous 4 series. It just didn't pop and wasn't lively. Sophisto Grey was surprisingly good and would be my second choice. White is white, if you like white cars the iX3 looks great in white. |

Correct me if I´m wrong, but I don´t think they have Cashmere Silver on the UK market.
That ended up being my choice (in lack of better, would have loved a San Remo Green iX3!). My second choice was Mineral White. A black car looks fantastic when it´s clean and maintained correctly. The latter is something less than 5% does. I have seen several new iX3´s in black and grey that came with swiwels and paint imperfections from the factory. Most people, myself included, do not have the skills to correct that. Many people are not hand washing the car which is making thing even worse. Pythonic Blue also shows scrathes and swiwels rather easy, where as a silver or white hides it much more. Another factor for me is, that all the black details on the M Sport stands out really well with a bright color. The same details "drowns" in a black/dark grey. So, that was the reason we/I went with Cashmere Silver out of the disappointingly small variety of colors. If we hadn´t had two white BMW´s in the past, I think we would have gone for that.
